Have been using 2, WD 4TB My Passport as additional backups but they needed to be retired/stored. Replaced with 2, 5TB WD My Passport they are working perfect.

Bought WD 1TB Mypassport to backup files on a Dell w/ Windows 10. After installing, the drive asked to register with WD. Registration kept returning to Please register your WD external drive. The backup software never opened. I have re-installed several times with the same problem. I’ve used a Mypassport for Mac for several years without problems. I’m returning as a defective product.

I’ve purchased several WD External Drives over the years and they’ve all worked quite well. I just keep filling them up…

this was a gift for my son who creates videos and podcasts for itunes, etc. current laptop was just about out of hard drive space – this Passport solved this issue and provided tons of more storage. extremely easy to use, zero complications or errors I definitely recommend!

I plugged the Passport into my Mac, followed the online directions and Time Machine did the rest. The compactness of the Passport make carrying it easy.

Great portable & fast 3.0 USB Hard Drive. I use it for backing up my computer internal drive and also for storing video when editing via FCP X. No complains!

I used the WD 2TB My Passport external hard drive to back up my 2 TB Brennan B2 music library. It worked very well. I also used a powered USB hub to connect as the download speeds are very fast. One thing I ought to mention is because the download speeds are so fast, I recommend placing a fan in front of the Brennan B2 as it can get hot. In fact, before I put the fan on my B2 froze and I had to hard close to shut it off to cool it. After using the fan I had no more problems with overheating. I did not have any problems with the external hard drive overheating. It took me about 3 days to download my music library as I have used about 500 GB on my B2 and I only ran the external hard drive for about 4 hours each day to avoid overheating. The other thing I have to recommend is the compact size of the external hard dive, 3 x 4 x 3/8, as it does not take up a lot of room.

I was worried it wouldn’t work for my new macbook since it runs on el capitan but I had no problem what so ever transferring information from my old laptop to my new one. Fast transfer speed, light weight, and compact.

Very good price for 5tb external hard drive. Already formatted for Mac.It is so convenient to use. Also like the connector for dual port.It has both of USB 2 and C in one.A very good idea especially for limited numbers of port in the computer. I like it.

Well if you aren’t getting 2 TB and above drives these days you may find that you can’t quite get the job done. I loved the color. Everything works great!

I needed a low cost, fast external drive to store data and applications. This one does the trick. I have been using it steadily for about 2 weeks now and it has proven to be a winner.

I haven’t usb 3.0 on my computer so I didn’t test it in high speed condition but I transfered a lot of data in one time and the transfert time wasn’t so bad. I appreciate the compact form, It’s really small for a 2TB! And it light too. I just regret that the wire isn’t integrate in the case like on some LaCie HDD (but the description on the product page is clear on this point 🙂 ).

I got this drive and formatted it for my Mac computers and have had no issues. The transfer speed is great and the size is very compact and portable. The only reason I took a star off is because of the new stupid USB naming system essentially tricked me. I thought this would be a USB C drive and it is not. The cord is the traditional USB size / shape.
