Always have your files on hand with the red WD 4TB My Passport USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive. Designed with a slim form factor, it’s also available in a variety of colors to suit your style. Aside from its 4TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

I purchased two of these 1 TB My Passport for MAC portable drives as gifts. I have one that I use and absolutely love it. It is compact and durable. Very easy to use. Just plug it in and you’re ready to back up your data. Works great with Time Machine! You can password protect and encrypt your data too. Would definitely purchase this again.

Have had several WD Drives. Use it for system image. Today I see error messages after attempting a backup. Then the Drive started beeping when I reconnected it. I tried the site to locate my Drive Warranty and the site says it does not recognize my product. Disappointed to say the least especially after less than 2 months use.

The hard drive worked perfectly with Apple’s Time Machine. The only criticism that I have is that the USB chord wanted to pop out of the port on the drive. The port seemed a little too snug.

Great product for the price. Acronis software for back up was unexpectedly good. Nice user interface. Several options for backup and other tools for maintenance. Very satisfied with this purchase. I purchased 2 of these drives. One of them simply stopped connecting to my computer within a couple months for no apparent reason. The second one became corrupted after about 6 months. If you value your data, don’t buy this drive.
