I have used a My Passport hard drive for several years for Xbox games and never had an issue with it. I recently upgraded to a 4TB hard drive and it works as advertised so far.

I have a 3-year old macbook pro which contained over 700,000 items to be backed up. I connected it to this external hard drive and used time machine which worked smoothly. This was such a great buy and it got the job done. I recommend it for anyone wanting to use time machine.

This is a great drive for expanded storage on the go. It doesn’t require external power, and the setup couldn’t be easier. I transferred 75GB of 4K video to it and it went quickly. I would definitely buy it again.

Perfect for carrying around with easy access to save any documents or anything for work. Easily accessible after the USB is plugged into any computer OS platform. Good for saving programming files that are created in Netbeans or standalone code that is written in Notepad++

I use this external drive to archive old photographs. It is very easy to use, and is very fast. As time has gone on, the form factor for these WD drives has continued to decrease. It is very light and small, and could even fit in a shirt pocket. It comes pre-formatted for Mac and can be used immediately upon plugging it into a usb port on your computer. After reading up on many alternatives, I concluded that this is the best value for the money and I haven’t been disappointed.

So far so good. I have always had good luck with WD external hard drives. Easy to use, easy to set up. I upsized because I filled the 2 TB drive and wanted a second external drive to back up photos

The WD 2TB Passport is easy to use, although my computer guru had me install a great free software for backups, which I use instead of the WD software. It’s much faster than I anticipated it would be, since it is an analogue not ssd drive. Can’t go wrong and the price is right.

I use both safari and windows so to reformat to use for both to save my video is just what I need

It’s faster than the built-in drive of my old MacBook (A1342, 2009) with USB 2.0. I haven’t tried it with USB 3.0, and I haven’t tried hardware encryption; software for encryption is on the drive. Transferred dozens of GB of data without any problem. Prompt response with directory listings and infos and Adobe Camera Raw and such. Does warm up a bit, but has not gotten hot.I got it with the Nomad case, and the model number of this drive is not listed in the Nomad’s manual. It seems to fit better if you replace the rubber fingers, and that’s what’s recommended for the non-Mac My Passport, but it works well enough with the original rubber fingers.

Started malfunctioning after a couple months of light use. 2 weddings (800 or less RAW files) and 3 small photo sessions (100 or less RAW files) backed up and it started either not taking files at all or going painfully slow accepting about 2 files in 1 hour before it just stopped. SECOND Wester Digital Hard drive to malfunction on me within a couple of months. I will NOT buy WD ever again.

It works as expected. It has a nice plastic build and it’s a little bit smaller than my old WD 3TB Passport. USB 3.2 G1 is the new way to tell us it has the same USB3.0 connection we used to know.

Slim, ready to use right out of the box, and reliable. I even like the midnight blue color! And B&H’s low price and free, fast delivery is also nice…

This drive is a good product, small and compact, and is just what I needed. Easiest setup ever, plug and go. The sale price here sealed the deal. Highly recommended.
