Always have your files on hand with the red WD 4TB My Passport USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive. Designed with a slim form factor, it’s also available in a variety of colors to suit your style. Aside from its 4TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

Brand new 4T My Passport plugged into my PC, when Im trying to start the automatic back up from the App, displays the message, that computer does not “see” the drive. Yet, I was able to save some files on this drive by simply copying them into this drive. And the manual is nowhere to be found. Very disappointing.

I needed a portable back up for my Mac and have been using Western Electric for years. So This was the right size and price. It came quickly but it wasn’t until I plugged it in to my Mac that i discovered it was formatted for Windows. I have a first gen Xbox one, got it shortly after release. I guess over the course of the last few years, while I was preoccupied on rocket league, games went the way of 100 gb file size. With the stock hard drive that limits me to a handful of games. Lame. So I bought this, 2TB drive to plug into the USB port on my Xbox. After easily formatting the drive through the Xbox settings I was downloading games and playing them off of the external drive without a hiccup. I can easily store tens of games on this drive and significantly expand my library. No issues whatsoever with the product. Would recommend.

I have several WB 4TB Passport USB External Hard drives and they are easy to use, perfect for backing up photos, music or anything else. Perfect size if you want to travel with them and in general do not take up a lot of space. The transfer speed is also good. I wanted the red one to separate its use from others I have and it’s a nice red.

I love the quality and easy setup. It connected to Time Machine fairly quickly. I like the backup software that comes with it. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that the USB connection is next to the flashing on/off light. I would have preferred to seen the light on the opposite end of the USB connection. Other that that it performs well

I like this. Have not used it much yet. But I hate the proprietary plug on the HDD itself. Make sure you do not lose this cable or you will have to order specifically for this one. You cannot replace this with any cable from any computer shop.
