Western Digital has been my go-to for years! They make it easy and affordable to get all my video clients organized and backed up!

A great little hard drive. It comes with two cables for the different USB ports, which is a plus. It comes formatted in Mac OS Extended, which, while making it Mac specific, makes it easy to partition. I partitioned mine to use 1/4 of the space as a Time Machine, with the rest for file storage.

I like a lot, very slick and easy to use. I use it mainly to back up my macbook pro and also works great with my time machine!!

I purchased this on December 15 to later to return but my folders keep on disappearing and i have to plug it back in. Change setting on my mac so nothing sleeps, changed cords installed Imac Big Sur, same issue. If I could return it I would. Terrible

Works. Reformatted for a MAC. You can download the drive utilities for MAC if you want them on the WD site. I am just using it for Time Machine backups. Good price. Enjoying the red color as it helps me know which disk. Smaller than the last one I purchased and twice the capacity.

My original 1TB hard drive for my Mac Mini Time Machine stopped working and I needed to replace it. Before I purchased this WD hard drive I had tried another model purchased at a local store that I had to return because it needed to be re-formatted for Mac and it did not work with my system. This WD Passport was a delight; small like an iPhone, just plug it in, install the soft ware, and ready to go. I am checking it from time to time and it’s recording everything automatically like it should. No problem so far, and I love it.

Got this to put all my dv family tapes on, good drive.

I was looking for such an external hard drive for my video and photo editing. It is just what I need and I think it has a good quality/price ratio. It is light enough and small enough to be transported.

Good for general storage, but as always, you need 2 of them for redundancy. no hard drive will last you forever with no errors. I haven’t had a problem yet after a year of use. The connector is scary though.

EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO BACK UP MY VIDEOS ETC.

I use these drives all the time, I carry files back and forth to my office and home, so that I can readily work at home. No cloud for me. These WD drives have been consistently working with rarely a miss for me, which dramatically differs from a WD drive I had (internal) some years back, which died at 3 months, no warning, no recovery, no nothing. These, thankfully, and knock on wood, are the total opposite of that.

So far, this hard drive has been sturdy and easy to use. The setup process was also pretty quick and easy, and I was able to start using it without any issue.
Kali Quitzon (verified owner) –
I have a number of these small drives — convenient, fairly fast, and for me have been very reliable. I’ll be purchasing more when these fill up.

Simply great

A little slower than I’d like, but my son used it to backup his computer and is happy with it!

The perfect match for my MacBook Pro. In fact it looks like it was built to sit next to it. Love the fast transfers with USB 3… and love that I don’t have to plug it in.

I have been using My Passport drives for many years and have found them most reliable and quite convenient for off-site backup. I do, however, caution you to avoid using Acronis True Image for Western Digital software. My experience with this software is a nightmare!

Seems fine. Nice and small – no complaints so far

The drive is highly functional. However, it is very slow in response. Good drive to store large quantities of items that do not need to be accessed very quickly.
