This 10TB drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 256MB cache, and a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, all of which help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a sustained rate of up to 263 MB/s. This drive also features high levels of reliability, with 300,000 load/unload cycles and <1 in 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits read. Also built into this drive are WD’s StableTrac and Dynamic Cache Technology to help increase reliability and optimize performance.

At this point it works pretty much like any other internal drive. I’ll know better 5 yrs from now if it is still working. I installed this in an external usb housing from OWA and configured it from a MAC using ExFat. No issues.

I bought multiple 1 TB WD Black drives for clones and backups in conjunction with a variety of desktops, and to supplement my NAS WD unit. These are great workhorses and I find 1 TB and 2 TB sizes the most convenient. Clones are particularly useful for keeping the computers in service with scarcely an interruption whenever I encounter a hard drive or software problem. I have never had a WD drive go bad and if you have a WD drive you can use Acronis clone program. WD edition free. The retail version includes the mounting screws which are otherwize difficult to find when you need some. Often I find a new computer has several screws missing. Cons:None.

Out of all the internal hard drives I have had over the years the Western Digital Black drive has exceeded my expectations in reliability and performance for a mechanical drive. Most hard drives I usually get last about 3 years before I start having trouble. I had the 4TB WD Black drive for a little shy of 6 years before it started giving me problems. This drive was both a replacement drive and an upgrade in storage capacity. Yes I would highly recommend the drive.

I give B & H the five stars for their price, shipping and tracking information. My profession is computers. I purchased this particular Hard Drive as a replacement for one that failed. As of this writing, it is working great and give it a three stars. Out of all of the HD from Wester Digital, I suggest the Black Series for my particular application as a replacement in an iMac. We are down to only a few HD manufacturers, and at this moment, WD is one of the most reliable.
