Store and take your important information with you while on-the-go using the 2TB Elements Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from WD. With a capacity of 2TB, it can be used for additional storage or for backing up your videos, photos, music, documents, and other files. The Elements drive connects to your computer with a USB 3.0 port at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, and is formatted as NTFS so Windows 10, 8.1, and 7 systems will recognize it right out of the box. For Mac users, the drive can be formatted to work with Mac OS.
The Elements drive quickly backs up and retrieves files by utilizing USB 3.0 technology and draws power from a USB bus-powered port on your device, meaning that it requires no other additional external power source. The WD Elements drive is protected by a limited 2-year worldwide warranty and a micro-USB to USB Type-A cable is included.

I was already familiar with WD Elements Portable external drives–have bought/used the 500GB, 1T and 2T drives. So, when I saw the offer at a reduced prices, I jumped on it. Very glad I came across B&H!

Prefect for long-term storage of past projects. Don’t know if I would use as a work drive though.

Works fine out of the box, just like it should. But best of all, there’s no software or other junk included — just a plain formatted (GPT) drive. Quiet and (so far) seemingly dependable.

I have other WD external hard drives that I’ve never had a problem with so I don’t expect I will with this one either.

I was surprised at the size of the unit when i received it, but then I realised that it uses a solid state storage disk. I powered it up, attached it to my KWILT personal cloud hub and never looked back. I store all my photo backups there and can access it at will. Great product
