Store and take your important information with you while on-the-go using the 2TB Elements Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from WD. With a capacity of 2TB, it can be used for additional storage or for backing up your videos, photos, music, documents, and other files. The Elements drive connects to your computer with a USB 3.0 port at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, and is formatted as NTFS so Windows 10, 8.1, and 7 systems will recognize it right out of the box. For Mac users, the drive can be formatted to work with Mac OS.
The Elements drive quickly backs up and retrieves files by utilizing USB 3.0 technology and draws power from a USB bus-powered port on your device, meaning that it requires no other additional external power source. The WD Elements drive is protected by a limited 2-year worldwide warranty and a micro-USB to USB Type-A cable is included.

I can remember when a 20 megabyte drive cost a week’s wages. I purchased this very compact Western Digital 1TB external drive for about the cost of a decent steak dinner. It is quiet, fast, runs cool and is easy to carry around. I keep one in the safe at all times and alternate between several drives to have multiple backups. Highly recommended.

I recommend to format it as exFAT (not NTFS) in case you use Win10 and Linux dual boot machine. for much better compatibility and less potential issues

I bought two of these drives primarily for backing-up my computer files. I was easily able to format and partition the drive for my needs. I would be somewhat hesitant to use this for recreational travel (prefer SanDisk Extreme SSD) but light travel use for business this drive would work well.

I’m using 2 of these to store copies of a library of compressed video files that will be on loan to individuals and therefore need to be portable and sturdy… and they are! The transfer rates have been fine and performance as expected. I like that it doesn’t have a power switch. Of course would be nice to have firewire connection. But can’t ask for much more at this price. It is what it is and does what it should.

You stated that the product was compatible with MAC PC but you are not keeping up with the updates, there it is not compatible. This information should be stated up front and not after you purchase the drive and find out you do not support the operating system.
