Store and take your important information with you while on-the-go using the 2TB Elements Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from WD. With a capacity of 2TB, it can be used for additional storage or for backing up your videos, photos, music, documents, and other files. The Elements drive connects to your computer with a USB 3.0 port at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, and is formatted as NTFS so Windows 10, 8.1, and 7 systems will recognize it right out of the box. For Mac users, the drive can be formatted to work with Mac OS.
The Elements drive quickly backs up and retrieves files by utilizing USB 3.0 technology and draws power from a USB bus-powered port on your device, meaning that it requires no other additional external power source. The WD Elements drive is protected by a limited 2-year worldwide warranty and a micro-USB to USB Type-A cable is included.

Fits in my pocket, or shirt pocket… Highly recommend.

Superior product. None have failed. Simple to format for Mac. I’m a pro photographer and save all files, from RAW onwards. This takes up a huge amount of space. These drives are easily portable and can be accessed often faster than my primary cloud storage.

Fast enough and big enough for all my needs. My main reason for wanting an external drive was to store and retrieve photos without having to rely on cloud storage. There is a lot of discussion about read/write speeds of HDD vs SSD, and SSD is superior and that’s all true. SSD is so much faster than I am, I doubt I will actually notice a difference. I am glad I don’t have to deal with the inconsistency of a DSL service to manage my images. This little drive works as fast as I need or possibly faster and it’s about a third the price of a comparable SSD. It is also pretty quiet and reliable. I’ve been using and building PC’s since the ’90’s. WD has been a trusted name in hard drives since then. If it ever goes bad, it will likely start making noise first. I will be able to replace it and still be money ahead compared to solid state. But that’s just me. You might have different needs. Thank you Western Digital, Thank you B and H!

Fast and very easy to use – as close to perfect as it gets. B&H has a great price and the best service in the industry.

This one of best portable storage devices I own. I use it for backup, travel, and long term storage. It is fast and reliable. The cost is so reasonable… I even stored the 1,000s of photos of the grandchildren and gave it to my son so he has history of his children growing up that is not lost on a cell phone upgrade. Highly recommended.

I’ve had at least a dozen of these over the years. They’re great for backups, and never have issues. Every time one makes it past four years I pass it on to another family member and replace it with a new one. So far not a single one has failed. They’re not fast enough for everyday use, but as a backup or Time Machine drive they have been flawless.

It’s a hard drive and it works as expected. Design is small and attractive and the price was just right. Just plug and play. I got it for my girlfriend to use as travel storage and she is very happy with it. I would have bought a higher capacity one for home use.

A highly compact, quiet, little drive that goes about its business in quick fashion; and it has a bargain price to boot. (no pun intended)

It is a nicely sized 1 terabyte drive that is powered off of the USB port. I have purchased a few of these as they are economical.

I got this for a client that needed a backup of a ton of files. I was able to reformat it quickly for a Mac and transferred the files in a snap. Was exactly what I needed.

The first unit I received stopped working after the second day. After days of tech support emails I finally was issued an RMA and two weeks later I got a new drive with no explanation of what happened. And so far 1 month later the second drive seems to be ok.

Way to set up and use. I partitioned it to back up a MAC and a Windows PC.

Bought this to back up my PC files and create a System Image Backup for Windows 10. It works flawlessly, which is all one wants from an external USB drive. I like the case design – it has small rubber feet on the back which enables it to sit securely on my PC (or a desk) without slipping or falling.

These things are great for backup anywhere. A lot of storage.

I’m sure this is a excellent portable drive, but WD Backup & WD SmartWare doesn’t support this drive. That was my reason for purchasing this drive was that their software was easy to use and worked flawlessly.
