Store and take your important information with you while on-the-go using the 2TB Elements Portable USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from WD. With a capacity of 2TB, it can be used for additional storage or for backing up your videos, photos, music, documents, and other files. The Elements drive connects to your computer with a USB 3.0 port at speeds up to 5 Gb/s, is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, and is formatted as NTFS so Windows 10, 8.1, and 7 systems will recognize it right out of the box. For Mac users, the drive can be formatted to work with Mac OS.
The Elements drive quickly backs up and retrieves files by utilizing USB 3.0 technology and draws power from a USB bus-powered port on your device, meaning that it requires no other additional external power source. The WD Elements drive is protected by a limited 2-year worldwide warranty and a micro-USB to USB Type-A cable is included.

Having so much capacity in such a small package is great! I travel a lot and this is the perfect device to use for downloading a large volume of images when on the road. It’s a breeze to copy, sort, keyword and rank images. Virtually impossible to run out of space.

I have a number of these and they are reliable and the usb 3.0 interface is native to my mac – no need for a converter. These have always been reliable and have had no problems with it. I use it for backups (I always have at least 2 per machine).

So far so good. The drive is very small, which I like. Since I am a Mac guy, formatting the drive for mac was very easy. I simply went to Mac disk utility and hit erase, and it formatted to MAC OS Journaled. I am now backing my MacBook Pro laptop and everything seems great. Thank you B&H Photo!

Clocks about 115MB/s read+write in Blackmagic speed test on my Mac Pro. Very lightweight drive, plastic housing does not seem super heavy duty. Overall seems like a great value.
