Best price I found on the web. …Unpacked it; plugged AC adapter into the wall; plugged supplied USB cable into drive and into computer. Hardware Found in 5 seconds; checked My Computer and it was there. Started copying files immediately. Entire process took less time than it too me to write this. Windows 7 HP Pavilion

I am using this for a Raspberry Pi File server in a remote location and it is working perfect. I have 3 of these drives, some in service for several moths and all are working perfectly.

Has more storage capacity than the internal hard drive in my 4 yr old desktop. Takes a load off and frees up desk top space.

I purchased the 1.5TB version of this drive model maybe ten months ago and have been very happy with it. I recently bought the 2TB version and have been experiencing some problems – I am concerned it isn’t really adequately ‘fast’ for playing/encoding video files, despite its advertised usefulness as a media drive. I’m not sure I’ll ever know whether or not this is what’s been causing problems for me, so I feel I wouldn’t have better insight with further usage time, frustratingly. But my impression is that video files that played fine from the 1.5TB model aren’t playing smoothly from this 2TB one. I recognize that other factors could be at work instead, but I am disappointed with the ‘vibe’ I’m getting. Take it for what it’s worth — maybe not much, but maybe something.

Used as a backup for 2 computers and photographs. Works as advertised and I am very pleased with the purchase.

The price is right. 35 years ago this much storage would probably cost over a billion dollars.

Being a belt and suspenders type of person, I store my pictures on a RAID 1 NAS drive and then backup the files to an external USB drive just in case.

Great deal. Simplest set-up ever. Works right out of the box.

WD makes pretty good Hard drives, due to cypto the prices for storage has go up alot. 14TB is a decent about of space so should last me a bit of time. I would like it more if it had a USB hub aswell (like seagate’s products do)

I have used this for my MAC Time Machine and it works great. No more running out of room for backups.

It’s lightweight and way quieter than my old external hard drive. Transfer speed is decently fast and so far I’m pleased. It doesn’t have a super-bright LED light that would be annoying like some other drives do. The plastic housing doesn’t feel totally robust, so I would be careful if you’re going to transport this around all the time. Otherwise, the price was right and I trust WD’s brand name, so I gave it a shot.

Works great with my dish network DVR. No problem setting up and loading with my saved movies. Can’t hear it. Have to feel it to see if its spinning.

I easily connected this to my wireless (Airport) network and can access it from Windows and Mac computers. Backing up a Terabyte drive to it plus two other computers. I like the size. I kind of wish the drive activity light was on the front and not the back where all the connections are.

2TB enough for my all photos. I like that Fast and easy to use. The size would be smaller.
