This 3TB external drive was simple to install and is fast and super quiet. What a tremendous amount of storage price at such a great price! I backed up my entire c: drive and still have almost 80% left.

Best bang for my buck! I’m all the way out in afghanistan and these guys still got this hard drive to me in less than a week! The hard drive itself was brand spankin new for a very good price.

Having purchased WD external drives in the past (and been very happy with them), I chose this 8TB to back up my computer files. One of the nice things about it was that its immediate compatibility with my HP computer. That goes without saying that B & H’s reputation for customer satisfaction is without equal. It is remarkable to think that this one, book-sized storage holds more information than ALL the computers and external hard drives I have ever owned!

Shucked the drives to use in a NAS with no issues

Just make sure you get the elements version. The Passport version has the built in encryption that, to date, I’ve not figured out how to delete. Formatting doesn’t seem to work. Since we encrypt using Bitlocker, no need for a second encryption

I bought this at a great price and I’m using it simply for back up purposes. I haven’t used the drive while running programs but just copied things overnight etc. I wouldn’t say it’s super fast but it does a good job and for the price, it’s great! A power button would be nice but i don’t think it’s that necessary.

I use this ext. HD to backup both my desktop and laptop (both Macs). Opened the packaged, plugged in power cord, connect to computer via USB and everything worked as expected. Partioned the drive into two drives for both computers and it works great.

Solid construction. Quite and easy installation.

I owned a 2TB version of this drive and after a couple years, but 2 of the 3TB versions. They work great for a backup drive for my iMac. Yes, you have to reformat them, but that’s just a couple clicks of the mouse.

In order to get this hard drive to work with my macbook i had to reformat the drive.

I’ve been buying hd for a very long time. WD have always been the most reliable. I’ve never had a problem with WD. This particular HD is wonderful as the other WD hd’s that I have. You can’t go wrong with Western Digital. Best prices are @ BH photo for sure!

As a photographer need a lot of space for my pictures, this is a great product with a great price.

The 2 WD Elements drives are used as the main drives holding my working files and the Time Machine backup. The USB 3.0 really makes a difference compared to USB 2.0 I don’t know about reliability yet, but previous WD drives have performed very well for me. Pleased with my purchases.

This product is good. I am rounding my rating down, which would be 4.5 stars. More on that later. I have come to look favorably on the WD brand of internal drives (NVME SSD & Internal 7200RPM “Black” HDD). Those drives have performed so admirably that I thought let’s give the external drives a chance. This is now my 2nd external WD drive, and it’s is performing VERY reliably. I have to trust a LOT of data to be safe on this 12TB Element, and over the multiple days that I spent copying and pasting to it from Mac & Windows machines (exFat) it has never been a problem. I think the max write speed is on the slower side (96MBps) but most of the time transferred at 36MBbps. Yeah that’s slow, but I can tell you that after moving 9 TB to it…slow and steady won the race. This drive is a “buy” in my opinion. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is cuz like ALL hard drives in this world, these companies advertise size X but it’s always X minus some space when you plug it in. 10.9TB is the actual size.

I’d been shopping for a WD 4 TB drive for a while and was actually lured by another site, only to find that the price wasn’t really as good as B&H. Rather than waste time on other sites, I jumped on the B&H site – no gimmicks or surprises, they just give what they say they will. I’ve already put a little over a TB on the drive without a hiccup, very happy!

this 8TB hdd is reliable and compact. I am very happy with my purchase. only improvement would be to make it user-upgradeable.

Only owned the hard drive for about 1 month. Seems to work fine. Using it to back-up the computers at work and to hold LiDAR and GIS files.

I’m using this as a redundant backup. USB2 so it will take a long time to copy 1-2TB (took me 13 hours to do about 1TB). I’ve used these in the past and never had problems with them. For the price it’s great value.
