Easy to use with time machine.

I use this drive to back up large files. It’s reasonably fast, quiet and reliable. A major plus for me is that it doesn’t include any utility software that I would have had to disable or delete. My only issue is with the wall wart; if the AC plug were located differently, it would block fewer outlets on my surge suppressor.

Runs very quiet, simple to use and has run cool so far. Better value than many of the other options on the market and is the amount of space is large enough to support storage for years.
Alvis Corkery (verified owner) –
I’s a bit larger than some options, but it’s totally managable considering it’s 3 TB capacity. I use it to back up both a Mac and a PC, mainly for photographs and files created in Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD and Rhino.
Cathrine Friesen (verified owner) –
This drive performs fast with no problems at all. Loaded a bunch of music, shows, and movies on it without any problem. I highly recommend this drive. The price was more than fair as well for a 2TB! Great experience!

I haven’t had all too long to use my WD hard drive, but so far it’s smooth, silent, sturdy and keeps my video files all in one spot.

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10. I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital.

I edit video and the drive is for backup/disaster recovery. This is the fourth Western digital drive I have acquired, and all do exactly what I need them to do.

I have done my share of my research on drives and wanted to buy 1 tb elements but with the low price offered by B&H I bought the 2 TB instead… the exact space is somewhere 1841 GB… I am using this as a backup for all the pictures I shot.. I would recommend this to anyone who are looking for a reliable drive…. Western digital rocks

Love it! Great product. Replacing this one to my 500GB External HDD. Huge storage! Very easy to use and setup. Other thoughts: hate the power adapter, it would be great if it runs on USB w/o power adapter.(not a con)

This is my second WD hard drive, and I would buy this product again and again. Easy to use, no fuss.
Serenity Klocko (verified owner) –
I unpacked it and dropped it on the wood floor. But.. it works fine. Very fast with usb 3. Quiet. No problems. Obviously I wish I hadn’t dropped it but the drive is well encased and I was lucky.

Things that are great about it

I always buy Western Digital drives. They are plug and play out of the box. Never had a problem. I back up all of my photos.

Easy setup. Plug in power cord, connect into Windows 10 USB 3.0 slot, get fast efficient massive storage instantly.

I use it to store all of my videos and it works great!! I bought it for $89.95 w/o shipping or tax, really cheap. Cheaper than anywhere else! I had another external hard drive that I replaced with this one. My old one, I had to turn it off and on every time I turned on and off my computer; but this one turns off and on with my computer. Great stuff!! It transfers stuff fast! Like it very much and very useful!

Works as expected on PC. The only problem is compatibility. Some devices such as Blu Ray players cannot recognize this device. Check the owner’s manual of your device before choosing the correct ext. HDD.

This is my 4th WD Elements drive, and they all perform as expected. I feel confident that my data backups are safe.

So far so good. The drive seems to be working fine. I paid a good price and the shipping was fast.

I bought this since I needed lots of storage. The drive was on sale and is a good quality drive. I use it for backup. So far…it works like a charm.
