Use this for backup of documents. Easy to hookup. Works like a charm. no complaints.

I’m happy enough with this hard drive for backing up and for storing my iPhoto library. It would be improved, however, if it had a power switch! It is a nuisance to have to turn it on and off by disconnecting power to it or by turning on and off the power bar. I also found that information about formatting this drive for Mac is a little hard to come by. I had to Google my problem (a persistent error message in Disk Utility) before I found a solution.

Never had an issue with any of the WD hard drives. They just work. Isn’t that what you want?

I use the product for extra storage for our 4 PC home network. Once plugged in, it worked with all our PC’s (Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit). The drive is small and unobtrusive. It is silent and has no lights except on the back. The USB 2 transfer rate is plenty fast enough when saving and retrieving most files. However it does take a while to transfer large multi-gigabyte video files. Even so, these video files can be played back from the drive with no problems. No problems or drawbacks so far.

This is my fourth WD drive – they keep improving the size. This 4TB is very portable, I picked up a simple soft-sided lunch box to carry it in when needed. I use it for photo/video – highly recommended!

it is worth to buy the hard disk driver

Good price, easy to use. Comes with trial software for backing up that was not user friendly, so all I did was format and started using as a clean drive. Would highly recommend.

Purchase price was reasonable given the amount of storage. Shipping was very fast (just a couple of days). Setup was easy, just plug and play. Perfect for saving lots of photos. Read and write speeds are acceptable given the age of my last generation computer. 2 Thumbs Up.

This is a great hard drive go store all your importanr files. If you want to use it specifically for Mac, then it does require reformatting, but that doesn’t take long. It had worked flawlessly since day one and has great speed. Since I work as a videographer, they fill up fast, so I’ll definitely be purchasing another to store all my footage.

Decided to Digitize my DVD library this summer and this HDD has been great for the extra storage. It holds about 375 full quality DVDs (ripped without special features)

Great 18TB drive at sale price. Same performance as the 14TB drive at 7200.

I use this product to hold records for work and as a more versatile and compact laptop; yes it doesn’t have a screen, but with what I do I don’t need to use it on the run, but rather when I arrival. It allows me to go from site to site without having to carry a bulky laptop. Not only that but can excess files of information where ever I go and not have to worry about memory. Just plug it in and access it. Best thing I have bought to this date.

I use this strictly for backing up paid gigs. My old external (Seagate) drive stopped working, couldn’t accept more pics even though there was 2 TBs of unused space. This one loads faster and without all the drama.

This is hooked to my Nighthawk R7000 router and became the FTP server for my personal cloud, way faster than any NAS device you’ll find around. I’m really happy with this purchase so far.

This is a good drive and B&H had the best price I could find plus free shipping.

I recommend this as a simple and very affordable solution to back up archives. Even though it’s not portable, it’s small enough to be practical.
