This is a perfect item. It is the best price for the amount of space you get. I have had it for about a month and can find no fault in it.

I use this hard drive to make a cloned backup of my iMac’s internal hard drive. By cloned I mean I can now use this hard drive to start my computer instead of the built in drive – it is bootable. I’ve tested it and it works great! I also use it to back up all the apps and other files I have stored on the internal drive. Lately, I even formatted it for Windows and backed up the hard drive on a PC notebook I own. That worked great too. For the price, it is a must buy, and B&H is the place to get it. The price is right, and delivery was on schedule. I have purchased many items form B&H, and they are an excellent firm to deal with

Worked like a charm, ensured the drive worked as it is before shucking, EMAZ White label drive inside. Working very well after shucking. BH shipped the product super quick. I am happy. Thank you.

Transferred 5TB of LR photos from 5 TB WD elements drive to the 14TB elements. Wanted larger capacity as my LR photos continue to grow. No issues at this point.

This will be my second time around with a Western digital My Book hard drive. Althouh my first was Years ago and was only 150 Gb. It was Huge back in the day. That one lasted roughly a year and although it died, it wasn’t the hard Drive itself. It was something electrical with the board. I still use the H. D. itself as I type. I am hopeful this 3 TB will last as long but in it’s origianl form. It’s nice and sleek, and it sits on the shelf for the most part unoticeable. It seems to be a tiny bit little louder than expected but the speed is great and I really have no worthy complaints. Well other than, I WISH I had learned of this B&H store years earlier. So much money spent elsewhere that I would have happily spent HERE instead. Incredible prices, FAST shipping and they sell it ALL

A long – long waiting time for me to get this, but so worth it…

I have bought two of these; for my backup at work about 6 months ago and recently for my personal use. No problem with any of them yet.

I now have increased my local C hard drive Image backup redundancy and don’t have to rely on a single external Image backup device. R.E.S. Pieternella, CURACAO.

The equipment is perfect for recording my home movies.

I use two of these drives to keep multiple copies of most of my files. You might call it manual mirroring. I want my photos, videos, and finances to survive a hard disk crash. These drives are connected via a USB 2.0 hub in my den closet. I have had no problems with them. The form factor makes them easy to stand up and not worry much about blocking cooling vents. The way I have them connected (USB 2.0), it took a long time to copy the other disk over. But my incremental changes are adequately fast.

I use this as a Mac Time Machine Drive. It easily reformatted for Mac and works well with time machine. My only quarrel is that it has a power switch on the pack, and an indicator light on the front, and that light is on whether or not I toggle the power button.

Just the drive I’ve been wanting! I have had great service with all of my WD drives in the past. Still use my first one I bought over 9 years ago! 4 TB for the price was a steal. VERY HAPPY!

I’m no stranger to WD products having used them for over 20 years, primarily as hard-drives in building & repairing computers. I have a 2TB WD ‘Mybook Live’ NAS in service running for over 5 years without problems. It lives in a garage closet at temperatures from 50 – 100 degrees. So, when I needed a USB drive to backup my current computer periodically I again chose WD. Surprisingly, it offered the ‘best bang (4TB) for the buck ($)’ too. This 4TB Elements USB drive has been in service for 3 weeks now, quietly backing up my computer 3 times a week. Too early to tell it’s future reliability or longevity…but I’m betting on my past experience with WD as a quality product.

I purchased this external drive to (1) back up uncompressed CD-quality and high-resolution (24/96 PCM through DSD128) music files on my Windows 7 desktop’s internal drive and (2) act as a music server source drive for an Ethernet-networked computer located in another part of the house. Installation was plug-and-play with the drive’s nominal 3 TB (actually 2.72 TB) capacity fully available without the necessity to reconfigure or reformat the product. The drive’s access speed is excellent–music stored on it that’s sent across the network is reproduced at the second computer without any burps, stutter, or gaps during playback. Even working full tilt in this function, it’s dead quiet in operation. I’ve not found any nits to pick with it.

I’ve tried several brands over the years. WD has been most reliable

I urgently needed additional storage space for all my photos, as I am taking upwards of 300/day. While I don’t keep them all by any stretch, I also don’t have time to review/edit them before needing to download the next batch of 2k photos. This is perfect for my needs, has helped speed up my laptop by a vast amount now that there is less clutter slowing it down, and reformatting this drive for Mac was as simple as could be!
