Have not had a chance to set it up yet so don’t have any Idea how well it works. These reviews should happen after a person has had the item for 6 months or longer. May be great for first several days then fail who knows?

Most all of our media is backed up on Elements External drives and we have been very happy.

The delivery came one day earlier than expected and was packed safely. The WD 3tb elements hard drive is amazing. It is quiet and and never makes any noise. Is it also very small and the build quality is very solid. It has vents all over the product for great ventilation.

I’m using the 2TB WD Elements Desktop Hard Drive as a backup of my other 2TB WD MyBook. Although both drives are proving to be high quality doing so gives me great peace of mind, and I highly recommend the same for anyone who has put time into creating an extensive backup. The very reasonable price makes it very worthwhile.

Disk capacity is a full 2TB, no added software. Quiet. Doesn’t get hot. Is only USB2 so is limited to that as far as speed goes.

I use these to back up my raw files, lots of space, really good for the price.

Using it to backup my iMac with Time Machine

Nothing flash or special but a good storage unit. Used WD for year without a problem and would use nothing else.

I back up 4 different computers on this drive. When used with USB3 backups run very quickly. I have had better service from WD Black drives than from other models.

I own several WD hard drives and none have let me down. This one works great and is super quick. Purchased it at B&H Photo and always get great service, easy ordering and fast shipping.

As you’d expect 12TB is a great capacity for long term storage. I use these for my bigger clients who have a lot of recurring work and massive amounts of video files that I’m always using, so it’s nice to have something reliable that sits on my desk and can handle that much footage. The noises it makes can be a little worrisome at times, but that might just be my paranoia

I bought this via B&H website and I got it yesterday. It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting itself and I am having hard time to move my data into this hard drive. So I called WD and the first agent suggested to plug it to the wall socket. I did that and it still does the same thing. So I called again and the 2nd agent asks me to try different usb portal and it still does the same thing. Then they agree with me it’s a wrong product, which is fine, but instead of sending me a new product or having me send it to them, they asked me to go to B&H to get a replacement. I was mad I was wasting my time. I could have just returned it straight via B&H. And I am worried the same thing will happen with a new replacement. And I don’t like the way the product shakes. I feel its vibration through my keyboard when it’s on the same table. I am thinking to get another model.

Bought to use on new computer but not here yet, works fine on older windows 10 and 2.0 usb, I know it will be quick on 3.0, time will tell if it is durable
