I got this at a great price and it works just as described. I transferred 80 GB and it got done within 20 mins. No complaint here. it’s great that it has a wall wart and also it has a power button to shut it down before unplugging. best for people who aren’t looking for portability and don’t mind a full size.

Works great. Just plug it in and your ready to go. I think its worth the money. Its quiet too!

I only use it to back up large video files. Seems to work well.

One of the things I like about this External Hard Drive is that it has a Power On/Off button in the beck (a little hard to find these days as most just connect to USB and when they are plugged in they are on). I also think it’s great to store large files and get them off of your main C: Drive. Tons of space for many pictures and a lot of music too.

Was looking for a large capacity external drive for basic storage that didn’t cost a lot. This was perfect, fast and reliable.

does what it is advertised to do

For a desktop external HDD, this drive is perfect. Right after I plugged it in, I was ready to move all the junks I’ve spent so much time to collect in the past two years. It took three hours because of the USB speed; but it’s ok for just that one time. From now on, I just need to back up once a month; that won’t take long. And it’s portable too, as soon as you won’t try to push it into your pocket. I can’t say that it’s catching your eyes; but then, the sort of square shape makes it really easy to set it up beside your computer: up, down, sideway, it’ll be fine.

This product is exactly what I was looking for. I needed more storage space, and this one is simply the best for your money. I am a college kid on a budget, so I shopped around quite a bit before deciding on this one. I have bought WD and Seagate before, and WD is definitely one of the best. It’s a very quiet drive, and just stays plugged in on stand-by, and wakes up very quietly when you need to use it. Simple plug and play as well. It doesn’t have a power switch, but I own or have owned drives with switches, and honestly it doesn’t really make a difference to me. I would recommend this drive.

As a professional videographer, storage space is a must. Thankfully this 2TB Drive is not only inexpensive to buy, but it is easy to operate even for the novice computer user. A great product at a great price from the leader in online Video/Audio sales. I have three of these now to meet all of my storage needs and don’t plan on switching anytime in the near future.

I already have another WD 3TB that is filling up fast. I needed another one for back ups and the 4TB was on sale. Excellent external hard drive. Very easy to set up, just plug it in and go. File transfers are fast. I’ve had Iomega and Seagate external hard drives die on me taking all my data with them. WD has never disappointed me so far. Highly recommend it.

The Elements External Hard Drive is used solely for storing photos. At 3 TB it gives me, an enthusiastic amateur, plenty of storage space for my photos. I am a MAC user and Western Digital was very helpful in getting it to be set up for a MAC computer. This is my third WD external drive and all work as described. Clearly as well, the price was right. I only wish that it did not have to be powered with a wall 110 volt outlet. But at 3TB I don’t know if a personal computer can do it on its own.

Not much to say – solid build, works great. No problems so far.

Worked Great out of the box. I also liked that there was no software on it at all. Just clean and ready to go… That day I backed up all my stuff and the rest of my family. Unplugged it and put it away.. Hope i never need it, however it is a great cheap insurance policy.

I use the hard drive to store my digital photographs and to back up my documents and music files. It’s easy to use right out of the box and I never install the software that comes with these things, so it’s uncomplicated. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because it’s huge and bulky but other than that, it’s an excellent product.

Usually a fan of WD external hard drives for my Mac but this one has a bit of a lag that I can live with but as each day passes its getting more and more annoying.
