I purchased this to remove the music from computer . My husband back up his music from his iPad and iPhone to our home computer which takes up too much space. This is perfect to use as backup to keep your comport running fast and smooth

My last WD Elements is probably 10 years old and still running. Just bought two new Elements to replace another dead Seagate. They now have USB 3 (I’m late to the USB 3 party and I’m shocked how fast it is). I get 153 MB/s write, and 164 MB/s read. They look nice and I like how they stand upright, except that they look weird next to the old model that lays down. The surface is shiny and shows dust easily. They are quiet. I wish it didn’t have a light at all but it’s dim and not disturbing at night. I think I’ll be loyal to WD going forward.

I love these drives. Never had one fail. And they’re faster than more expensive higher spec’d drives.

The 2TB is a great choice for anyone looking to backup their computer or save their video/photo files in another place. It was a little tricky to make it my backup in the beginning but after 2 tries my mac finally recognized it. Great compact design and transfers quickly. Go for the 2TB instead of 1TB, that extra space pays off in the end!

Used to store raw files. Easy setup and lots of space for large files. Would be nice if backup software was included.

I wanted a big external hard disk drive for backing up everything, and this Western Digital drive is doing the job. Unlike other drives I’ve had, it even works fast using a USB Hub. Some might complain that it has no switch and no light, but I don’t see those as necessary at all. It’s just one black block of memory, but not so big really.

Nice drive. Easy set-up on my Mac. Took a bit longer to copy files to than I thought it might but my previous drive was a Firewire.

Plain and simple – these HDDs are a great value and are very relaible – I have 7 of them — I dropped one from a distance of about 4 or 5 feet and it landed on the corner of large subwoofer – the impact gouged the subwoofer’s cabinet and cracked the HDD’s plastic housing – but the drive still works like new

Great backup Hard Drive. in the past I bought the 1T Hard Drives but now I need more space

I use this drive as a second copy of my photos. Has a small footprint and set up is easy.

Simple plug and play. No issues with Win7 whatsoever. Slim design takes up little desktop space.

I needed a solution for video storage since many of my files are large and I didn’t want to waste blank dvds with files that still needed to be edited. I’ve been moving files between several smaller hard drives and it has been growing inconvenient. With this new 3TB HD, I was able to move all of the files to one location which has made it MUCH easier to access and edit files.

We use it for customers who balk at the price of a NAS device for server backups. Taking advantage of USB 3.0 speeds is a total game-changer when backing up hundreds of GB nightly.
