If you need safe external data storage this is just the ticket!

Works perfectly for archiving old photos. Never had an issue with WD hard drives.

I use hard drive to backup all my movies and music… gets the job done
Ettie Ziemann (verified owner) –
This is the least expensive 2TB drive I’ve come across. I use it for backing up my Mac. It’s not the fastest drive around, but for backup it’s all I’d ever need. Definitely a good buy.

Did a low level format with no issues – took a long time for this monster. Very quite operation. Did not do any speed tests but serves my needs

Purchase from web site was easy. Hard drive was delivered in just a couple of days. Unboxed and plugged in effortlessly. Data transfer to the external hard drive was as simple as drag and drop. No issues at all so far.

Ordered on-line and received in almost record time. I only have one complaint: The one received was for a windows computer. Had to remove everything on it, reformat it for MacOS before I could use it. I use to work as a SW Configuration Manager – wonder what a non-computer trained individual would have done.

Great large capacity external hard drive for the money. As long as you don’t move it around, it seems pretty reliable. My first one I dropped and lost everything, so just got a replacement.

I’m using this hard drive to store raw videos, digital photos and other archived material. I use Mac OS, and it took only a few minutes to reformat it to Mac extended (journaling) format. It’s quiet, compact, solid. I have the same drive in 2TB size that I’ve been using for a year as a Time Machine backup drive with nary a hiccup.

I haven’t had any problems, conflicts, or negative thoughts. The power input is a little off-centre, resulting in a tight fit This is kind of a good thing, though.

Came very fast to my door (like 3 days), plugged it into my Windows 7 machine (USB 2.0 only) and IT WORKS. I’m not sure what else I wanted, or what else to say, just – it works! And is very fast even with USB 2.0). The cable that comes with it plugs into either USB 3.0 or USB 2.0. No reformatting, no setup, just plug in and go! Nice job WD.

It’s hard to say much about a hard drive as you rarely notice it unless it fails. This is my forth WD and they are reliable and easy to set up.
Emile Nader (verified owner) –
Used this as a backup for an external 2TB drive. Easily cloned the 2TB drive with no issue and am satisfied overall.

Awesome storage for all that data and programs that you infrequently use but can’t live without. Great place to put all those freebies you download with the good intent of checking out but don’t have the time to do it immediately. I love this thing!

I have it connected to a Channel Master DVR+ and there is no issue.

It’s an external hard drive. It does what it’s supposed to. Quiet. The only thing that I would add is an on off button but you can always just unplug it. Would buy another one.

Bought this external HDD to back up existing photos and videos. So far, it is working like a charm. Very fast, silent. Had extra $ rewards accumulated from previous purchases made via BH. Was able to purchase it for roughly $. Would recommend it to anyone.

Shooting a lot of 4K and still, storage is always at a premium. This is my umpteenth Western Digital and all have been rock solid (and all still in play). Easy set-up, access, good speed and a reputation for a reason.

First impression when I received it was plastic doesn’t as good as my old WD similar drive. Its glassy. May annoy some people when seeing finger prints all over the place. Second thing, cable (power and usb) are are hard to insert and remove from the drive. It fits, but not as smooth as my old device. I guess they cut on quality for the exterior.Other than that, I’ve been using it for 2 weeks ans seems working fine.

Does what it’s suppose to. Cheaply.
