as others have said, its slow – I knew that going in – I just wanted an easy way to back up my video files. at some point, I may re-purpose this for use on my NAS via my T-Link Router, so all 11 of my networked devices can be backed up, but for now, its serving its local purpose… Time will tell as to how long it lasts, and if the data is still readable in a couple of years, etc – but its working ok.

Can’t complain about a thing about this drive.

I have been needing to expand my external drive capacity for quite some time. This buy was an awesome price. The delivery was very fast, and so far I am extremely satisfied with the product. I think I am going to be a repeat purchaser on B&H.

I took delivery of this drive in Dec 2019. I tried to do a backup on June 2020, but the drive head sounds like it is trying to seek and the computer does not see it. Save you money and get something a bit more robust and reliable.

I purchased it to back up excessive files from My Cloud drive of WD, so I did NOT have to replace filled up drives on My Cloud drives. This Element 14 does have a feature of drive sleep which did NOT indicated in the instruction manual of web site of WD. This is a good feature included. I have NOT used it long enough for reliability, but I have used several WD drives at my satisfactory level.

It’s quick enough, has plenty of space and doesn’t take up much room on my desk. However, it does thunk occasionally which is apparently something HDs over 10TB do, but it doesn’t inspire confidence. Been running it three months with no issues, but I’ll update this review if that changes over time.

Awesome!!! Easy hook up. So far so good.

This was incredibly easy to set up. It’s very compact as well. Access speed is really good too. I must also give kudos to B&H for having the best price that I could find on the internet.

This external hard drive isn’t anything fancy – but it does the job! I bought it on sale, but even the regular price is good for 2 TB. I use it to upload my myriad of photos from Lightroom.

This is my 3rd Elements drive. All are working great. They are simple to use. plug in, and play. They don’t take up much room are easily transported and are durable. I haven’t had a problem with any of them. My first was a 500gb. I have owned this for 1-1/2 years. Then I bought a 1.5tb. I have owned this for 1 year. I just purchased the 2tb. To put it simply, they work very well. I use them for movies and music. I also have a wd hdtv which I can plug them into and play HD quality movies on my big screen. Fantastic!

Making me nervous. I Just bought this and it’s making all sorts of disconcerting noises. Crunchy almost, like when an old harddrive was about to fail. And it’s Brand New!!
Hermann Lubowitz (verified owner) –
great just as advertised

Bought it to save pictures and videos. File transfer is fast enough for my taste and the price was right on. Can’t think of anything bad to say about this product!
Lavinia Spinka (verified owner) –
Very easy to setup, with partitions if necessary. I divided into halves of 2TB each. One for computer backup and the other for photos. The only reason I give it a 4 it is because it can get a bit noisy during backup process- my home office is very quiet though. Great product for the money!
Harmony Marquardt (verified owner) –
Perfect for storing backups of your critical files, photos, etc!
Chadrick Labadie (verified owner) –
It arrived before the promised date (thanks), and is exactly what was advertised. Thanks again.

It’s fine. No issues so far, after a week or so of having it. Cost a little more than I had hoped, but I needed something on short notice, and they delivered. Literally!
