Preformatted NTFS for systems running Windows 10, 8.1, or 7, the 14TB Elements Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from WD provides users with up to 14TB of add-on storage for their photos, videos, music, documents, and other files. It features a 5 Gb/s micro-USB 3.0 interface, which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1, and is compatible with 480 Mb/s USB 2.0. It is powered using an 100-240 VAC power adapter, is formatted NTFS for Windows, and includes a USB cable.

Great for backup using Time Machine on MB Pro. First backup takes a while, but subsequent backups are pretty fast. No power switch is a little bit odd, and power cord is a bit hard to pull out, but overall, not bad and can’t beat the price for 2 TB’s!

This is my 5th Western Digital drive. Never had a problem with any of them. Lots of storage. I don’t use the installed software as I use my own. Just format the drive in Windows and it is ready to go.

This is my 2nd 16rb drive. I was very happy with the first one so I ended up deciding buying another one but was disappointed to see the drive not in brand new condition. It seems like an open box item that was returned. On top of that it’s painfully slow. It’s not as smooth as my first one. Something is not right here. I miss the 30 day return deadline so luckily that WD has warranty. Bad move on B&H moving open box item as new. Left a bad taste as life long customer.

I purchased the 2TB Drive to use as a backup for my new iMac. I was unable to use it as it had been programmed for Windows. Got that straightened up but still have not been able to make it work. Need to call tech support. No directions came with the product. I am not a techie.

So far I have really enjoyed using this external HD. I’m using it with timemachine on my Mac and all I had to do was to reformat it quickly to Mac and it was up and going.

I was running out of room on my hard drive and needed somewhere to store my massive media library. This 3tb External drive did the trick . It stored my media with plenty of room to spare. With the 3.0 USB connection I was able to transfer my files quick and painlessly. It’s a great drive and so far has operated flawlessly and is quiet as a mouse.

Terrible device. Worked fine for a year than one day decided it doesn’t want to work anymore. Customer support was bad, typical can’t speak english well bs. Said I could send it back and they send a new but they failed to send me the email with the info. Probably wrote the wrong email down since he couldn’t understand english. I don’t want send it in with all my info in there hands, no thanks. I’ll take it as a loss. 5 stars for B&H though.
