Preformatted NTFS for systems running Windows 10, 8.1, or 7, the 14TB Elements Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive from WD provides users with up to 14TB of add-on storage for their photos, videos, music, documents, and other files. It features a 5 Gb/s micro-USB 3.0 interface, which is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1, and is compatible with 480 Mb/s USB 2.0. It is powered using an 100-240 VAC power adapter, is formatted NTFS for Windows, and includes a USB cable.

This is my second WD 2TB hard drive, I use them as a backup system for my photography. I filled up the first one and needed a second. I wanted a duplicate so that all of the power chords and USB cables were the same. I prefer the USB cable that plugs into this hard drive over the micro USB cables, the one for this drive has a more solid connection and is not as easily dislodged.

Great value, 4 Gb extra space, when you are doing HD video you will need memory like crazy, this is so affordable for a freelancer, its my 3th WD external hard drive, will buy again if needed.

Works very well, and the USB 3 is as fast as it comes. The only reason not to give this product a 5 star is that it is designed to stand on 4 little rubber dots, making it very likely to fall, and if it falls, very probably you’ll lose all data!! I recommend laying it on the side. I already had the case of losing precious information because it accidentally fellI would also have preferred a larger, more vosoble LED.

I bought this Drive from BandH (Good Seller) but drive failed within 8 months. WD going to replace it, thats nice of them, but you loose all the important data. Lesson Learned: Keep two Hard Drives !!

I bought this drive exclusively to backup my computer on a regular basis. What I am amazed about this drive is how small and light the case is. I’ve had other external drives that were much heavier and bulkier.Pros-Great value. I’ve seen 1TB drives go for what B&H charges for this 2TB.-It’s a Western Digital. I’ve never had one fail on me yet.-Small and light. Fits into my fireproof suitcase safe easily.-Plug it in and go. It’s already formatted for NTFS.-Got it from B&H ….Cons-I wish it had an LED on the front to let you know it’s on. There is a light on the back but that doesn’t do me any good.So far I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend it!

The USB 2.0 interface provides decent transfer rates, although this brick still requires external power. I bought it for Mac because it was lised as compatible with Mac & PC, but it actually came pre-formatted for Windows, so you have to carefully format it for Mac OS X (Journaled). It’s been working great though, and for the price you can’t beat it. 🙂

I use these for everything and they work great. I can edit 4k at 1/2 to 1/4 resolution over USB 3 with no dropped frames, they are very quiet, nice and compact. Would be nice if I could safely lay it on its side instead of standing it up.

I use this hard drive to store video and audio files. It has worked flawlessly since day one. It’s super easy to use. Requires power to use (doesn’t work off usb power, you have to plug it into a wall socket) so it’s not the best for portability. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
