Transfers are fast and connected easily.

I love it because of the price but I don’t like the design and port location.
Lon Wolf (verified owner) –
This worked right out of the box with no fuss and no muss. It does take several seconds to wake up if not used for awhile and that function cannot be changed. Still, it’s handling 3TB nightly backups perfectly.

I’ve owned several WD drives going back many years. All of them are still running and with doing music production I use them a lot.
Cade Casper (verified owner) –
Lots of storage–great price and great customer service

Got this product about 2 weeks ago – it is working well. The only thing I do not like is it runs 24/7. My other external ghard drive you can turn on & off (which I prefer)….less wear & tear.

I own a number of these hard drives now. I work my image storage in pairs, one harddrive is primary, for work and modifications, the second is a back up to the primary. I’m at 10 hard drives now, never an issue.

This external hard disk drive stores a ton and is light and portable. Great for video on the go editing.

I have zillions of images on several drives. I reformatted the drive for my Mac Pro, and it works perfectly. I found it a real bargain, as I didn’t need the software included on the others. The real variable for a backup drive is longevity. Hopefully, that story won’t be told for quite some time. So far, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Bought for additional back-up capacity. Easy to reformat for Mac.

Great hard drive at a great price. I don’t know who wants to spend an extra $ to $ to get the MyBook version of this hard drive just because it comes with some backup software that nobody ever uses. The true test of a hard drive is longevity, which I won’t know for a while, but so far Western Digital hard drives have been good to me and it is why I am switching back after some 2x bad luck with Seagate. If this one fails early I will update my review, but so far this is a great drive with no frills at a great price.

I don’t have Windows. I have a Mac…so this is pretty much a paperweight

Using to back up photos, easy to use, compatible with laptop and existing primary back up system.

I bought this drive to store music file to free up space on my laptop. So far it is great. It’s fast, easy to use, and convenient in size. Love it
Lonzo Weimann (verified owner) –
Works great with our laptop its small and has plenty of space to store your music, photos, and digital videos. B&H had the best price that I could find.

As a personnel preference I only use WD drives for any of my critical data needs. This drive performs great and the price per TB is on par with other high capacity drives. Great value and provides high density in my home network
David Fay (verified owner) –
Setup as backup drive for Time Machine, plugged into airport extreme. Works great so far. Fairly compact, quiet and doesn’t seem to be getting hot, even after backing up 400GB. So far, so good.
Felicita Brakus (verified owner) –
Easy to install, works faster than any other hard drive I have, fantastic capacity.
Syble Pollich (verified owner) –
Plug and play simple. Took several hours for data transfer when I first used it but that wasn’t a problem. Runs very quiet.
Elisa Crona (verified owner) –
After installing became 9.85 TB of free space.
