Aside from its 2TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

They have come a long way with external hard drives. Just arrived so maybe too early to know if I’ll run into any issues down the line but I am very happy I have a way to store a large amount of photos and music off my mac without messing with TimeMachine. Easy to use right out of the box. Great service from B and H as always.

I just use a few of these to back up my RAW footage from a recent production. I haven’t used them as working drives. The size is great! …even with the ‘Nomad Rugged Hard Case’. They fit nicely in an offsite safe. Large storage!

This is a nice portable drive that I use for remote storage of my iTunes library and my photo library. Slow using USB 2 but with a new computer that supports USB 3, I’m sure that the drive will be fine. A good bargain for so much storage.
