Always have your files on hand with the black WD 2TB My Passport USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive. Designed with a slim form factor, it’s also available in a variety of colors to suit your style. Aside from its 2TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

I have used it for a micellaneous backup drive for the time being. Once I get my new computer I will sort through it and probably have better usage for it. This drive formatted for the MAC is a great little portable. It can be reformatted, as I did for EX-FAT and put my media on it for playing through a Raspberry Pi on my TV. Works without a glitch. Having the USB A to USB C adapter is a plus. One point of improvement is in the packing for shipping. It was in a vinyl shipping bag–not a box with shock absorbing material. I was worried that the drive would be D.O.A. I lucked out this time, though.

I use heavy duty RAID 1 drives and expensive RAID 0 drives for video editing. I’ve backed up on these WD Passport drives and have even done some editing on them and have never had a problem. Great product. Reliable.

This item came very quickly (in about 3-4 days) and it works great. The only downside for me is that I don’t have many devices compatible with usb 3.0; therefore, I am not able to utilize the drive to its full capacity. However, it works great and does everything it says it would.
