Always have your files on hand with the black WD 2TB My Passport USB 3.2 Gen 1 External Hard Drive. Designed with a slim form factor, it’s also available in a variety of colors to suit your style. Aside from its 2TB of storage capacity, it’s built with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to help ensure your files are protected, and features USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for fast transfers. It and comes formatted NTFS for Windows 8.1 and 10, but may be reformatted for other operating systems, and connects to your host system using an included micro-USB to USB Type-A cable. Users can take advantage of WD’s Discovery and Backup software to help manage and back up their files as well.

Simple. Easy to use. Comes with encryption and password software. One cord for both connectivity and power. Small and portable. Somewhat misrperesented as the total memory available is closer to 3.6 TB and not the full 4TB as advertised.

I’ve had my 1TB Passport hard drive for about two weeks now and it suits my needs perfectly. Its extremely compact, lightweight and quiet. I keep it in my laptop bag and store and edit my photos from it on the go. Very convenient! I can’t speak of its longevity at this point as its only been two weeks. Hopefully it lasts! My only critique is that it may not be the most durably built hard drive but I don’t plan on abusing it.

I bought the product from B&H and installation was very simple and fast. I don’t want everything to be copied so I didn’t activate Time Machine but only copied selected items to the drive. It is very fast and I liked the way it works. So I feel it is a great product . In my short period of usage of this HD, I didn’t observe any negative points to report.

I bought this portable hard drive to use with my laptop when I’m in the field shooting and for transfer to my workstation when I return home. And for this function, the drive works flawlessly. I decided I needed a total system backup drive and started using this 1TB drive as my Time Machine backup drive. It’s fast, rock solid and provides me not only a total system backup but security and confidence I will not lose critical images or data.

I got this drive and formatted it for my Mac computers and have had no issues. The transfer speed is great and the size is very compact and portable. The only reason I took a star off is because of the new stupid USB naming system essentially tricked me. I thought this would be a USB C drive and it is not. The cord is the traditional USB size / shape.
