Remember when you could collect measurements with laser precision? Find out how far away stuff is with the WEN Pocket Laser Distance Measure. Our pen-style design stores easily in your pocket, making it easy to bring from job to job. Measure your subject in either meters or inches/feet depending on your preferences. Simply hold down the power switch to go from imperial to metric units, or click the power switch to record the current distance and simultaneously disengage the laser. The WEN Laser Measure will then display the measurement for up to 120 seconds before automatically turning off, allowing you time to record each specific distance safely and easily. Measurements are taken from the base of the laser’s body, allowing users to press the butt of the measurer against one wall to collect the exact dimensions of the width of a room. Powered by the two included triple A batteries, gather measurements anywhere from 1.7 ft. (.5 m) to 32 ft. (10 m) with 1/4 in. accuracy. And, because its a WEN Product, your laser measure comes backed by a two-year warranty and a friendly customer phone line all to make sure you remember WEN.
- Compact pen-style design measures in at 5-3/4 in. in length and a mere 2 oz. in weight
- Switch between imperial and metric units by simply holding down the power button
- Measure distances anywhere from 1.7 ft. to 32 ft. away (10 meters) with 1/4 in. precision
- Click once to record your measurement and disengage the laser for safe and accurate readings
- Lesser than 1.0 mW (output) class II laser, includes two AAA batteries; recommended for indoor use only
- Backed by a 2-year warranty

I use this to measure cabinets to input the dimensions into the Photo Measure app on my iPad.

Very handy gadget. Low priced and it’s small enought to carry in a shirt pocket – it’s about cigar size. Simple to operate – press and hold to change from meters to feet, press once to turn on the laser, after you have your measurement press once to turn off the laser and the reading will remain for 3 minutes, so you don’t have to run for a paper and pencil. My test readings all came up accurate when I compared to a tape measure. It’s only drawback is the 32 ft range. The pros will probably want to pay the money and get a more sophisticated model, but this is great for getting a rough reading of a project’s size. Much easier than doing it with a tape measure.

This WEN Model 10110 Pocket LASER measurement tool is a convenient way to measure distances between about 20 inches up to 32′ feet or so, even in bright light (though it’s hard to see the LASER dot in sunlight.) The unit is sensitive to warm temperatures though. It becomes unresponsive when the unit gets warm and it must cool down before it will operate again. The WEN technical support people indicate that is not unexpected, and plan to caveat their instructions to reflect it. The small LCD display shows a tiny triangle when the laser is lit, with a somewhat pointless icon depicting a laser beam that is active all the time. In addition to the LASER icon and tiny triangle ,the display shows battery status and the measurement itself, in both SAE (ft + inches) and metric (meters.) In SAE units the resolution is 1/16” which is overkill since the unit itself has a stated accuracy of only 1/4”. In metric units it resolves to 1/1000 of a meter (millimeter) so again the display implies the measurement is more accurate than it is rated. Having said that, I measured it repeatedly at various distances and found it to be within 1/8” of my tape measures almost every time. One inconvenience: the display is only right-side up when the LASER is shining to the left, which makes real-time readings of distances to the right side a problem. I wish the display auto-inverted for reading, but the ability to freeze the measurement by pressing the button at least makes it possible to flip the unit to read the display. The unit is molded in a nice triangular shape which keeps it from rolling when placed on a flat surface, and the measurements are based on the rear end of the unit, which means you can butt the unit against a surface and not have to worry about the length of the unit (compared to a tape measure, where you add the length of the body to the reading to get distance between two surfaces.) There is a small hole at the rear of the unit where you could thread a lanyard if desired.Overall it’s a nice, easy-to-use unit and about 30% cheaper at Home Depot than its nearest competitor, albeit it with less stated accuracy.

The numbers in the display could be bigger to make it easier to see.

First of all, this a laser tool and must be use with caution and DO NOT point to anyone eyes. This mini measuring tool provides rough measurement because it has up to 1/4″ tolerance meaning if you are measuring from the end point of the laser to the end part of the tool you need to keep in mind the up to 1/4″ tolerance so you do not measure short. Example, if you measure 12″ on this tool, the actual measurement is only about 11-3/4″. The tool is also sensitive to sunlight, black or glossy surface which could affect the laser functionality. Otherwise I recommend the tool for rough estimate and to measure distance where using standard tape measure is hard to do.

It was a gift. I haven’t gotten feedback from the recipient yet.

Handy tool to have around. Many times I have needed this tool. Tape measures are great, but when you by yourself, or measuring longer distances a tape measure is not your friend. I measure room sizes, distances to a ceiling, approx. lengths to cut cable or wire for running electrical, this tool works. It is easy to carry in my shirt pocket. One button to read and it shuts off automatically. Hard to read number in some lightGood tool.

Great product!! This is much easier then wrestling with a tape measure!

I had difficulty getting the instrument set up for feet and inches, but eventually sorted it out. Could use some directions for the user. Once in correct mode I took some shots in the house that I could also measure with a tape to check accuracy. I found that the instrument includes it’s own length in the readout so you don’t have to add it. It is a handy pocket instrument that provides a laser dot on the measured surface for aiming..

Works very well, seems to be very reliable (different measurements of the same place give the same distance). I really like that it is small so I can just carry it all the time and use it when I need. Most of the distances I need to measure are about 60 feet or less, so I can stand near the middle, measure to one side then the other and add it up. It turns off by itself after a short time, so just take it out of my pocket, turn it on, and when I and done I just put it back (while still on) in my pocket. The laser is so low powered that it makes no heat at all. Very handy.
