I use these blocks to set up saws for ripping and crosscutting. They register exactly 1x2x3 with my micrometer, so the Wen version is a good price without being “cheap.” I plan to add brass gauge blocks in fractions of an inch to complete this measuring procedure.

It took a while for them to arrive at the store. But, worth the wait. Get 4.

I didn’t know I ‘needed’ these until I came across an article that used them when creating/setting up various shop jigs. I’ve made due with various diy spacers from hardwood or plywood in the past but there likely not as precise as these blocks and without a doubt not as durable. I appreciate the threaded holes and cut a section of 3/8-16 all thread to join these together for storage or to use down the line if I need them doubled up. I often think of a WEN as a power tool company but they nailed it here with these blocks, they’re great.

Ordered these online for delivery in-store. The process went great and they arrived a day before they were promised. Like others, the cardboard box was pretty much destroyed, but the overpacking (bubble wrap mailing envelope) was fine and the blocks were perfect. The blocks are a great value. I use them as my master 90 degree reference for setting up saws, the drill press, and jigs. I use nearly every time I build a jig – much more handy than an engineering square.

These are good, heavyweight steel 1-2-3 blocks that are, as far as I can tell, quite well-machined. They are useful for setting up equipment to cut or drill at perfect 90 degree angles, as well as for setting up cuts in one-inch increments. Some of the holes are tapped, but I haven’t yet figured out what the pitch of the threads is. That would be useful to know, and it would also be nice if the set included some bolts with an allen head to allow you to connect the blocks for putting together different setups. But I will probably figure that out on my own at some point. In any case, these are a handy thing to have around, and should be one of your standard tools for measurement and setup in any shop.
