Remember when you could measure the slightest imperfections; Maximize accuracy with the WEN Caliper-Style Screw Gauge Micrometer. The large onboard LCD readout prominently displays measurements from 0 in. to 1in. in size. Switch between metric and imperial units with the simple push of a button, going from a resolution of 0.00005 in. to 0.001 mm. The carbide-tipped anvil and spindle (6.5 mm Dia) provide both incremental and absolute measurements while the ratchet and thimble allow for either quick or fine-tune adjustments. Pop on the included ball bearing tip (4.5 mm Dia) to maximize accuracy when measuring rounded or uneven subjects. The hard-bodied storage case keeps your micrometer protected from dust and contaminants while the extra CR2032 battery provides replacement power for your digital LCD readout. And, because its a WEN product, your caliper-style screw gauge micrometer comes backed by a two-year warranty and a friendly customer help line, all to make sure you remember WEN.

USEFUL; EASY TO USE; EXCELLENT DESIGN — The WEN Standard and Metric Digital Micrometer with 0 in. to 1 in. Range, 0.00005 in. Accuracy, LCD Readout and Storage Case is a helpful tool to have on hand. For many years I have wished that I had such a tool and always had to improvise to get an approximate reading. This unit easily fits into the palm of your hand. It is easy to turn off and on, calibrate, change from in. to mm, and change from absolute to relative measuring modes. It has a fast adjustment and another one for fine tuning. Its spindle lock is straightforward. It comes with a storage case to protect the unit when not in use. What really put it over the top is that it comes with a spare battery that fits neatly into the case. Although not mentioned in the instructions, it comes with an attachment for measuring round objects. Also not explained in the instructions is an SPC port at the top should you wish to transfer your measurements to a computer.

This WEN Digital Micrometer is very nice. This is a precision instrument that has some capabilities that only those in very high tech machining like aerospace, etc. might use. It reads in both metric and English scales, with accuracy from 0 to 1 in. or 25 mm, with resolution down to 0.00005 in. or 0.001 mm, much more detailed than I (or most any DIY ot home shop types) will ever need. It can be set for reading incremental differences in measurements and putting those incremental differences into a computer (through the included USB SPC output port) for graphing. Changing scales is a matter of simply pushing the button. Calibration is just as easy. Simply hold the on/off button for a couple of seconds. It comes in a good plastic case with a place for everything, even the the battery compartment tool. The instructions are good. It includes a spare CR2032 (very common) battery. It also includes a ball bearing tip for use with irregular shapes. I found it very easy to adjust with the ratchet and thimble, and the lever type lock works well. I have other micrometers, but I really like this one with the Digital Readout which makes it much easier for my old eyes to see. About the only thing that could make it better would be a backlit display, but I’ll never be using it in dim lighting anyway. There are much more expensive micrometers out there, but I see no need to invest in them for my purposes. It’s hard to beat the quality and usefulness of this micrometer at a price anywhere near this. An excellent tool!

Precision at a fraction of the price of the S & M brands. The switchable inch/metric display is easy to read. Includes a USB port for direct data collection, not tested. Attachable ball bearing tip enables measurements of tubing wall thickness and other irregular surfaces. Powered by the widely available CR2032 battery. Remove battery if not in use for extended time. OFF setting switches off the display but circuitry is not fully off. Black parts of frame, thimble, and ratchet are plastic. It’s too soon to assess durability. Includes a protective hard plastic carrying case. Significant drawback: Lacks a mechanical vernier scale for backup if battery fails and for checking LCD accuracy. Two year warranty.

This is a good tool at a good price. I was able to measure pinion shims to the thousandth of an inch with repeatable results I couldn’t achieve with my digital calipers.

No more guessing the Vernier match on the micrometer! The push button selection of absolute or relative measurement and being able to do that in either inch or metric units again at the press of a button is great but reading the measurement in LCD digits is awesome. As a DIYer I seldom have a need for 0.00005 inch resolution but it is nice knowing the ten thousandths value is really good. My ability to verify resolution is limited to running repeatability checks and it passed with flying colors. This is a very nice quality instrument at a very reasonable price.

So far so good, no problems. Instructions could be better, a bit sketchy. Overall it seems to be a good accurate device for the price.

It did the job that my husband needed it to do. He had to test a motorcycle rear brake disc to so if it needed replace and it did

This is a solid micrometer, easy to use. Just what I need at a good price. I also like the fact that it can switch between metric and inch.

Made of very light weight material. Good for the hobbyist but not industrial enough for every day use.

This micrometer is spectacular. I compared it to a much more expensive Mitutoyo micrometer that I have and I also used both of those instruments to measure some precision gauge pins that I have. This Wen micrometer was spot on accurate and its results were very reproducible. Its operation was smooth. The only functional difference between this micrometer and the much more expensive one to which I compared it is that the Mitutoyo has an IP65 rating, meaning that it can be drenched with coolant and not have leaks. That feature is unimportant for any normal use, so this Wen micrometer has all of the necessary features of much more expensive instruments and performed extremely well. The hard plastic case is standard for these products and it also comes with a spare battery, an thoughtful addition. I highly recommend this micrometer and for the price it is absolutely remarkable.
