Great design features in this WEN variable speed rotary tool! First, its carrying case is well thought-out with a clear top so you can see all of the supplied components, including the attachable flexible shaft for using the tool in tight or awkward spaces. It has a compact smaller case inside with over 100 accessories, such as grinding and drilling bits, sanding disks, and polishing pads, so you really can tackle most any job with the supplied accessories. I found the thumbwheel speed adjustment easy to use, and the body of the tool was a very comfortable fit in my hand. The bits are easy to install and remove with the supplied wrench (see picture). Just press the orange locking button and use that wrench. The motor was well-balanced because I did not feel any vibration when using the tool. It is far better than other rotary hand tools I have used in the past thanks to its good design. It even comes with a very useful 15-page manual that has break-out diagrams of all of the accessories (explaining their intended use) as well as the parts of the tool (in case you need to order replacement parts). There is even a link for a video explaining the process to attach the flexible shaft. The folks at WEN really have thought of everything! I am impressed with this very complete tool package. I highly recommend it!

Fresh out of the box, one of the stones was broken from its shaft. The drive cable for the flex shaft was dislodged and is now loose after the initial test. Other than that it works well.

Dremel is much better but for $20 this tool is nice. Recommend for the most jobs which don’t required high accuracy. This tool is not for jewelry or modeling but you can use em for small projects.

Great addition to our tool collection. It is equipped with over 100 accessories. This kit provides a wide variety of bits, discs, spindles and more to meet the needs of any project. The bits are easy to change out with the provided wrench tool. You can attach the included 3 ft. flex shaft for jobs requiring intricate and complex detail work. I tend to use the tool without it for the most part. Designed to be used on wood, plastic and glass. Fits great in your hand and is easy to use. Fairly quiet. You can adjust the variable speed from 10,000 RPM to 32,000 RPM with the turn of the speed dial. Used it recently to clean up some edges on some tile. Worked well. My son also likes to use this to work on carving wood for art projects. One of my favorite things about this tool is the case. It keeps everything together nicely. The accessories also have their own separate case for easy storage of the small tips and bits. I have another rotary tool that doesn’t have a case and I find that I use this one more often because of that convenience.

This was one of those ‘specialty’ tools I had been putting off and putting off for way too long, so now it was time. It quickly proved handier than I expected. First I used the sanding discs to sand down some curves on a bathroom shelf that I built to sit on top of the vanity. The following day I used one of the cutting wheels to cut a nice straight lines in a piece of sheet rock in order to make a ‘back door’ to an area where the water shutoff valve was inside the house. Straight and clean. One thing of particular note was that even at the highest speed there was virtually no vibration and all tools were attached quickly and easily. The flex extension makes any work much easier, as you don’t have to support the tool itself. This tool will be getting more use than I thought.

So far so good no issues. The 1 Amp rotary tool is kind less powerful, however 1.3 Amp costs $40.90. For money reasons I bought 1 Amp with $23.20 and it is a fair price to me.

I ordered this online & picked it up at my local Home Depot store, with no issues what so ever. But, I never expected this rotary tool to do what I needed it to do. It definitely has more than enough power to cut through a push washer. I even saw sparks flying! Wow! For the price, this can’t be beat. Much more affordable than any other tool in it’s class. Just be careful because this tool has quite a bit of rotary power. I absolutely love this tool! Just a friendly WARNING: Please, be sure to wear eye protection when using this! This comes with many different tools for cutting, grinding, buffing, and etching, perhaps others I have not mentioned. I’m so glad I found this & that Home Depot carries it.

I wanted a flex shaft, others were charging twice as much for what I saw on the web, I saw this and a few other kits and went with this because; well I got second rotary tool, to me I got two items for 1. I have two Wen Items, they never let me down yet. I have a couple of D’s; with accessories, do they work with the Wen? so far all bits do, my adapters (A550,565,566,679-02,A576 ) do. Will Wen flex shaft work with others? YES, if you have a D4200, you need the adapter kit for that unit, usually comes with the 4200. Collets- Wen uses brass instead of steel, but the good news, the steel collets work for both units, one down note, the collet nuts are different size, so if you are hoping to use a universal chuck, the Wen booklet states it can use the 2305 universal . I saw someone mentioned run out with a drill bit in the flex shaft, I used a small grinding stone on it, no run out. One note, those sanding bands that go on the drum, you have to screw that drum a bit or that sanding band will walk off.Another note: Wen’s instruction sheet states to pull out the center cable and grease; well I can’t seem to get it out no matter what. But it sure does do a decent job .Hope this answers some questions I keep seeing in reviews.
