Remember when you had the ability to cut any shape you wanted all in the palm of your hand. The WEN 6.6 Amp Variable Speed Orbital Jig Saw glides through wood, metal, plastic and more, making any pattern or contour easy to achieve. The variable speed dial adjusts the stroke of the blade anywhere from 0 to 3,300 strokes per minute. Onboard laser keeps your line of cut right on target while the front mounted LED light helps illuminate your work piece. Attack wood up to 4-1/4 in. thick and metals up to 3/8 of an inch thick. The orbital selection knob helps adjust the strength of the blade to match the density of the cutting material. Simply turn the knob to change the stroke from vertical to orbital, creating a pendulum effect with the saws blade. Easily bevel the bottom footplate up to 45° in either direction for angled cuts in your work piece. The lock-on button temporarily holds the trigger in place to alleviate the stress of keeping the trigger engaged during long jobs. Make blade changes and installation faster than ever with the tool-free quick release chuck. The onboard tool storage system ensures that any necessary hex wrenches are always close while the rear-mounted dust port allows for attachment to the dust collection device of your choice. This package also includes a lock-on trigger switch, a beveling footplate, a non-marring shoe, a wood blade, a metal blade, and a parallel fence bracket, and a two-year warranty.

Used it straight out of the box without adjustments. It has plenty of power cutting through 2×6 doug fir forming curves for porch swing. Love the ease of speed control and adjusting different cutting actions while I was cutting. Fits the hand well and light weight for positive control. Fan works well and keeps the blade free from sawdust for ease of following the cut line. Tried angling the foot plate and was pleasantly surprised to find metal notches to help alignment while tightening the set screws. I was worried about using Bosh blades from other reviews, but no problem. I have worked with craftsman and bosh jig saws in the past and was worried about the lower cost, but this one has exceeded my expectations. Great product…

This thing is a beast. Cut through 4.5″ wood? Yeah, right I thought. Had a scrap piece of 4×4 and it eased right through. It does everything the description says it does. I like the ability of the 4-position orbital selection knob allowing changes of movement of the t-shank blade from up-and-down to circular. Good laser light and easy blade exchanges. And nice to have the 1-1/2-inch dust port or the front-mounted dust blower to clear sawdust from your line of cut. At just five pounds, easy to maneuver, packs a punch and accessories are easy to get from Home Depot.

I’ve used it several times so far for pruning small trees when the limbs are too thick for loppers and it would be overkill to use a chainsaw. Would recommend not using orbital feature when the material being cut isn’t firmly secured as it’s easy to set up vibration. Also picked up a 3-pack of Bosch all purpose blades that are about 5″, because the standard wood-cutting blades say 4″ but less than that is available for cutting. The 5″ blades could handle a 4 X 4. The tool is rugged and powerful and I like it’s flexibility; can be used in a wide variety of situations / materials.

I am not a carpenter, so I didn’t work with wood a lot but I am satisfied with the jigsaw WEN 6.6 Amp Variable Speed Orbital. I have already used it to cut 1 inch red oak and 3/4 inch poplar glued together (so, total thickness of hardwood plank was 1 3/4 inch). For me WEN was doing its job very good. One negative thing is i couldn’t use laser light when I wanted to cut strait line. The cut was loosing drawing line. But I used the laser as a level to make marks. There was no problem to cut curving parts.Anyway I don’t regret that I bought this WEN model.
