I love this little lathe. If you are wanting to do anything larger than roughly 6 inches round I would buy a larger Midi Lathe. I like that this lathe has 1in 8TPI for standard chucks but the MT1 is a no go as any extras I buy that go into the tail piece or head piece will not fit a larger lathe. The motor is alright as long as you do not try to take off to much at one time. The tool rest at the lowest point is exactly center so if you need it to be just lower than center you will find yourself having to cut the Banjo and re-drilling the screw hole.Other than that I have enjoyed this lathe.

Awesome little lathe. Just make sure to bolt it to a work bench

Simple assembly and operation. Functions extremely well, heavy enough to be stable on counter without attaching, but easily portable. This an ideal lathe for small projects like pen making.

I run a 24×36 for most of my woodworking projects and picked the Wen up on a whim. It has turned out to be a little gem. I’m doing all sorts of mini-projects on it that I would have passed up because of the time needed to fool with the bigger lathe. This is just fine for small vases, boxes, bowls, spindle work and so forth. Great for finishing on, too. Much more useful and better than I thought it would be for the price.

My wife bought me this lathe for our anniversary. I was worried it might not have enough power but I have been pleasantly surprised. I have done many small projects such as Christmas tree ornaments and small lidded boxes. It has never bogged down. I was worried about the delay when you turn it on but then realized it was made that way. I am very pleased with it.

Definitely a good lathe. for 160 bucks you get a very usable machine. Only complaint is the drive center is pretty poor quality and needs to be replaced with a more high quality one.

Haven’t used it yet. It is a Christmas present

It works great! I am so addicted to playing around on it! The only feature I am bummed by is the tailstock’s extension. Turning the knob to dig the tool in is often a miss. But I do love this lathe, and the price was pretty good.

Works good – great price – good speed control – quiet and vibration free. Easy to work with once you work out the quirks.

Love the machine great performance. Would like more accessories thought to hook other items like a chuck for wide or metal objects.

The lathe worked pretty much as expected with the exception of overall power. This was the second tabletop lathe I’ve owned. This one isn’t as powerful as the first I bought, but it works ok
