Adjust the speed anywhere from 550 to 1600 strokes per minute with the simple turn of a knob. The cast iron base prevents vibration and walking during operation while the spacious 16.25-by-10-inch table bevels up to 45 degrees for angled cuts. The adjustable air pump clears saw dust from your work area to give you a clear line of vision. This combined with the 1-1/2-inch dust port keep your work area clean so you can focus on your woodworking. Theres no need to fret about blade changes – the included blade holder accepts pinned, pinless, and spiral blades while the unique side panel swings open for easy access to the bottom blade holder. This package includes one 15 TPI pinned blade, one 18 TPI pinned blade, and one 18 TPI pinless blade. For the money, this is a great little saw. The only draw backs are that it has a little more vibration than a spendier model and the blade isn’t as quick to replace. Still, for the price, this is a great saw.

The throat plate did not fit flush to the table top, so as you cut pieces get hung up. Also the table top was not very smooth. The pieces should glide across this to help you feel the blade cutting. However the rough finish makes this difficult to do. The non-pinned blades are also a challenge.

EASY-to-USE; VERSATILE; WELL-DESIGNED — The WEN 16-inch Variable Speed Scroll Saw is appropriate for both novice and experienced users. It has many features which make it easy and fun to use. I had never used a scroll saw before, only saber saws and coping saws. This scroll saw comes with excellent, illustrated instructions so it was easy to get started even though I was inexperienced in using such saws. It makes cutting patterns so much easier. It did take me a little practice before I became proficient at cutting curves. I used the saw to cope a piece of baseboard to fit into a corner. Since the table tilts, I was able to get the angle slightly less than 90 degrees so that the piece fit perfectly. It took much longer to get such a piece right with a coping saw. This saw is well-designed so that all the controls and adjustments are easy to locate and use. The most useful feature for me is the adjustable air port which cleared the saw dust from my cut line. I used the saw blade that came installed with the saw. Since it did not break, I did not need to change saw blades. The dust port fits my shop vacuum perfectly. The saw has a drop down side panel to store extra blades and the Allen wrench. The saw which has a two-year warranty is made in China.
