Remember when power tools were actually powerful. The WEN 14 in. 2-Speed Band Saw is the perfect companion for any workshop. With a 9.5 Amp motor and a 13-3/8 in. throat, this beast will attack boards up to 8.85 in. D and 13-3/8 in. wide. 2-speed operation allows for speeds of either 1420 FPM or 3280 FPM. The design of this saw uses 100-3/4 in. blades anywhere from 1/8 in. to 1 in. in size for a variety of both intricate and powerful cuts. The spacious work table measures in at 21-1/2 in. x 15-3/4 in. in size and can be swiveled up to 45. This package includes a flexible work light to illuminate the worktable, a 3-in-1 dust port to fit a variety of dust extractor hoses (1-3/4 in., 2-3/4 in., 4 in.), a sawdust collection drawer, a fence for creating perfectly straight cuts and a miter gauge for angled cuts. The onboard circle cutting guide helps create perfect circles and curves up to 32 in. Dia. The upper housing includes a small window to reveal a blade tension gauge. This gauge helps properly identify whether a blade has the correct tension given its particular width. The easy-to-assemble stand elevates the band saw without sacrificing space on the shops work bench. Well I am a hobbyist but have enjoyed working with wood for well over 25 yrs. I always wanted a bandsaw to add to my collection of tools but never could justify the purchase of one till a couple of months ago. This saw had mostly good reviews and the price was right, so I pulled the trigger and picked up this bandsaw from Home Depot. I have to say I was a little leery because the others bandsaws that had good ratings were twice the price. I picked it up and brought it home and put it together which was really not much to do. I made the adjustment to square up table to blade and then proceeded to rip down some read oak 1 X 6 X 36 inch planks. The rip left me with 2 3/8″ X 6 X 36 inch planks. Even with blade that came with unit the rip was extremely accurate. I then ripped down a 1 X 8 X 36 inch and results the same. Plenty of power and fence was actually square. I ripped down a piece of maple also that was same dimensions as the red oak 1 X 6 X 36. I had read where blades are a problem to purchase because of odd length and while they are a odd length I was able to purchase 5 more blades with sizes varying from 1/8″ through 3/4″ and basically same price as for the common bandsaw blade lengths. I will not be using this in a daily way but more like a once a week. So far I am very pleased with the performance and quality of this saw.

The Wen 14” shipped promptly and was delivered to my home. The saw is a good saw at the price. Blades are another story. They will need to be ordered a custom from one of many suppliers. 100.75 inch blades are not readily available. Happy so far with it.

I haven’t used it much but so far it works great. I only have 2 minor complaints. 1. Adjusting the blade guides is a bit of a hassle. I would think their engineers could come up with something easier to use. 2. It’s hard to see the actual blade while cutting, the upper guide bracket is kind of in the way. All in all I would recommend this band saw, it has done everything I wanted it to do.

To start with, it was a pain to assemble.When I’m trying to split a 7″ piece of wood lengthwise, I press the wood against the rail and start it thru. It doesn’t even get an inch down the board before it starts to drift off center!

Great value. Calibration was easy and simple to figure out. All bearing adjustments to tension and position the blade are foolproof. The motor has power to cut through all hardwoods easily. Despite what HD specs say, ALL parts (minus handles) of this 14″ saw are metal. Table top is cast iron.

So far it’s been a great saw. The only complaint I have is that the light is on the back side not the front, so it doesn’t illuminate the blade as I cut. It’s a minor thing though.

I have had this band saw for almost a year and as a starter set it does what I need. However, there are problems with the saw. If I need to buy a new saw I can only purchase from Wen as they have a different size requirement than similar 14″ band saws i.e. they require 104 inches where WEN requires 105 inches. Second, if a bearing breaks on the upper or lower guide assembly, I can not replace just that bearing, I have to purchase the entire assembly. The good side to this is I now have spare parts, but I also now have spare parts that I have to track. I also wish that the fence assembly would function smoother, there is a lot of jumps when moving the fence and dialing in to an accurate measurement takes longer than I would like. Like I said it is a good to starter band saw, but as I learn more about the use of the saw, I find myself wishing I had invested my money in a different brand.

I purchased the WEN 14 inch Band Saw and I am so far very happy with the purchase. It was easy to assemble, and very sturdy so far. I am just a hobby woodworker so I did not want to spend a ton on a band saw yet so this was a good choice for me. It is quiet once running, has little if any vibration.

Works well. Blades aren’t easy to find at a reasonable price. Wen was out of stock on the 1/8″ that I wanted. Called them and they told me that they should have some in a couple of weeks.
