Cut pipes up to 4-1/2 in. Dia or rectangular materials up to 4 in. x 6 in. in size. With 3 different operating speeds of 80, 120 and 200 feet per minute, achieve the perfect cut on a variety of sizes and materials. This bandsaw includes a durable stand with a collapsible handle and two 4 in. never-flat wheels to keep your bandsaw elevated and easy to transport. Onboard blade tension and tilt knobs make for easy adjustments and minor tweaks in-between jobs. The WEN 4 in. x 6 in. Metal-Cutting Bandsaw also features a workpiece stop for uniform cuts, a pre-installed 64-1/2 in. x 1/2 in. blade, a 4.6 Amp motor and a feed rate adjustment handle to make changes to the speed at which the saw lowers itself during horizontal cutting operations. This saw works great. Like other reviews have said, it’s a $250 saw, don’t expect a professional unit. I had to shim the slide piece on the non-powered pulley, to free up some play, as the blade kept falling off. Fixed that problem. The only thing I don’t love about it is setting the vice for angle cuts, there aren’t any exact markings, so it’s better if you grab a speed square and put it to the blade to make sure the 45° is correct. Other than that it works even better than I expected. It did however develop two cracks in the casting by the vice after less than 30 cuts. Whether or not It was just a factory defect or an actual weak spot in the design, I’m not sure, but I contacted wen customer service, and they were very prompt, professional and easy to deal with, sending me a replacement unit.Hopefully it was just a defect in this particular piece, and the replacement will be fine. All in all, I would definitely buy this saw again

Good saw not fast

I had hard time get it to cut straight the cast table had bumps that I to grind them off to let the saw travel down to cut the tubing off.

Nicer than I thought it would be for the price. Cuts slow but accurate. I can set it to cut and go do other work in the meantime.

10 years ago i purchased a H-F and i cut a LOT of steel. So i got my $$$ worth out of it. Wore it out .The wen 4×6 is very similar and slightly better in some respects . I do make fairly presice cuts with it. the angle gauge is spot on !

Assembled fairly easy by myself. Took a little time to figure out (speed/ other adjustments) however I found the bandsaw to perform very well. Happy with purchase!

Great little saw. Base is very sturdy and assembly was easy. Quality was higher than expected. The saw was cutting with minimal adjustments. I have cut 1/4″ x 2″ mild steel strip, 1/2″ rod and 1/2″ threaded rod. Adjusted the fence a bit and all cuts are square. WEN must have some QC in place, no missing fasteners or fit issues.

Super happy with purchase. Have had for 3 months and still impressed! Has cut everything I have put in it. For the price I thought it would be a lot less of the saw That you get!

Compared to a cut off saw using a circular abrasive disk, this band saw is a huge upgrade. Unfortunately the worm gear started freezing up intermittently after a couple dozen cuts. Inside the gear box everything looked fine, maybe some tolerances were off, but the problem continued from time to time. I ended up returning the band saw just 1 day before the 90 day return policy ran out, though I intend to get another. The gear defect means hauling the band saw to Home Depot. Assembling and adjusting a new one will take a couple hours again, and the big styrofoam packing material is going to fill up a couple trash cans again. But it will be worth it if the next one works better. If you get one, run it thru its paces early on, make sure it can keep cutting without binding up in the gears. If you wait until the 90 day return window ends, you’ll have to pay to have this heavy machine shipped back to Wen under their 2 year warranty; that might not be cost effective.

I bought this cutter for our farm where we build things out of metal quite often. We got it as an alternative to a metal shop saw with teeth. After a lot of research, I settled on this one as we weren’t ready to commit $1000+ for a really good one. Got this in and just barely had to adjust it, and it started working really well. The only real problem we’ve had is that the original blade was dull right out of the box. I got a couple of other in and replaced it soon after, and it started cutting quite a bit faster. Just remember, the reality is that this and any band saw cuts much slower than a metal cutting shop saw. It even cuts slower than an abrasive saw. The up sides of this saw are 1. It makes very precise, small cuts. 2. you can set it and walk away if you have something else you can work on as it turns off automatically when it’s done. 3. It is MUCH quieter than a chop saw, which goes a long way in a metal farm shop where many people are working around you. Overall, good buy. We will see how much we use it in the future.
