Remember when you could make fine-tune adjustments with the simple turn of a wheel? The WEN 4.25-Inch Cross Vise provides stable support for your workpieces. Perfect for incremental drilling and other precision work. Attach it to your bench top, your drill press, your work table and more. Made from heavy duty powder-coated cast iron, the WEN Cross Vise grips tightly onto your workpieces, providing over 1900 pounds of clamping force. The 4.25 by 1.25 jaws open up to 4.125 inches wide. Make minor adjustments along either axis with the onboard hand wheels. Each hand wheel features machined 0.1 mm increments, each full turn representing 3 mm of travel. The vise moves a full 5.8 inches (148 mm) along the x-axis and 6 inches along the y-axis (150 mm), making it the perfect companion for woodworkers and metalworkers alike. The fixed jaw features a V-shaped groove to hold round objects either vertically or horizontally while the removable handles help users easily install the vise into tight spaces. With five 1/2-inch mounting brackets positioned around the outside edge of the vise’s base, the WEN Cross Vise is compatible with the majority of drill press tables on the market. And because it’s a WEN product, your cross vise comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer help line all to make sure you remember WEN.

Nice vise. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before use. I initially, mistakenly, thought vise was TOO STIFF. Guessing initial stiff setup by factory helps with shipping. Fixed stiffness by slightly loosening set screws (part 6 and 23 on diagram). Reading instructions before screwing around would have helped me get a grip on how to use effectively.

Better and cheaper than hf

Great value for the $$$$$ worked perfectly

decent for the money…but the screws get stuck in parts and don’t turn smoothly and the holes to mount it could be better as they don’t align with many drill press tables so you need to clean and re-grease and de-bur it before use.

For 50 bucks it’s what you get. Plenty of slop in the travel and lots of attention needed in the ways. Better than nothing. And ok for the frequency that I”ll use it. But it is crude. About on par with Harbor Freight stuff.

The unit did not line up with the plate on my drill press. I could not user 1/2 inch bolts to mount it. I did mount it with smaller #8 hardened bolts. It needed to be lubricated and the slides and tension adjusted. It now works fine.

Good unit for the money

Did not mount to my 8″ Wen drill press smoothly at all. Bolt holes do not mate up with drills work table slots, had to drill my own (lack of foresight from mfg). Also, the handle of the vise jaws lockdown adjustment and the windage for the acme screw were on opposing sides, causing interference with the drill stand pillar and unrealistic non ergonomic adjustment. Had to remedy that by removing the acme screw, drilling and tapping the other side of the vise, and remounting the assembly. Lots of extra work because of lazy engineering. End result after the modifications is decent though after lubing and fine tuning the gibs.

Seems to be a well made product for the price. I have been using it with an endmill for a poormans V mill.

Works great, wish there was an easier/quicker to put on/take off drill table.

Great product.

only used it once so far , seems to be adequate , after some initial adjustments I think it will work fine for me. It won’t get used more then a few times a year , but is one of the tools that are hard to do without.

I received this with no damage to it or the shipping box, opened it up and removed the vise, it was covered in grease which I expected. I tore it down completely and cleaned and reassembled. There is backlash in both the X and Y wheels which again I expected for the price of this vise. I adjusted to get as much backlash out as I could and it works great for my purposes. If you need to do precision work or milling then I think you need to go with something more expensive, but if your looking for something to move your work around on the X and Y axis this works great. Once cleaned adjusted and greased everything moves smoothly without binding.Hope this helps.
