Remember when you could make fine-tune adjustments with the simple turn of a wheel? The WEN 4.25-Inch Cross Vise provides stable support for your workpieces. Perfect for incremental drilling and other precision work. Attach it to your bench top, your drill press, your work table and more. Made from heavy duty powder-coated cast iron, the WEN Cross Vise grips tightly onto your workpieces, providing over 1900 pounds of clamping force. The 4.25 by 1.25 jaws open up to 4.125 inches wide. Make minor adjustments along either axis with the onboard hand wheels. Each hand wheel features machined 0.1 mm increments, each full turn representing 3 mm of travel. The vise moves a full 5.8 inches (148 mm) along the x-axis and 6 inches along the y-axis (150 mm), making it the perfect companion for woodworkers and metalworkers alike. The fixed jaw features a V-shaped groove to hold round objects either vertically or horizontally while the removable handles help users easily install the vise into tight spaces. With five 1/2-inch mounting brackets positioned around the outside edge of the vise’s base, the WEN Cross Vise is compatible with the majority of drill press tables on the market. And because it’s a WEN product, your cross vise comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer help line all to make sure you remember WEN.

After some adjustment to the set screws, this unit does very well. Some minor assembly required.

Very nice for the price compared to others out there. This is not to be used for milling, way to sloppy. However, it is great to help hold and center an object to be drilled. As others have recommended, I tore it apart and stoned all of the ways. It is now much smoother since all of the rough spots are gone. I still clamp down all the gigs before drilling. The casting is stiff enough to handle the drilling once clamped down. Saved me several hundreds from buying a true milling table since drill presses really don’t make good mills in the first place.

Once set up X&Y action works well, there is a bit of slop in the handles so go slow and check your measurements

The the screws are a little tight at first with a little Grease and time they freed up nicely. There is no slack at all. Which is great

It’s very tall. Difficult to use with a table top drill press

this is a very big and heavy vise, when I got it. As always any thing made in china it needed cleaning and adjusting, every thing was in a bind and would not operate smoothly. Once set up and leveled it worked ok, this is not a precision tool. spend the extra dollars and get an American made tool

Takes a bit to get everything set right to work smooth but works great

Came assembled and ready to use. Within the first 2 weeks of use, the bearing holding the clamp came apart…. it still clamps but requires manually moving the clamp to loosen. Not precisely level as well so had to shim one corner to level the slide portion. It does its job, just not as easy as expected..

Adequate crossslide vice. Glad I didn’t pay a higher price for a different brand. Works well enough for drilling use.I’m somewhat pleased with this purchase.

Reasonably decent for the money. A lot of play in the axis screws, but that is to be expected. Poorly boxed for a heavy item.

Has good holding of work piece. You do need to check for sharp edges and address those. Then you have a fairly tight slide vise in three directions. This can be secured to bench or work table and move slides in deliberate motions without the play that other inexpensive vises have.

Nicely packaged. Super buy for the price. Came completely pre adjusted for slide tension. Just put on the handles and you’re good to go. I use it on my drill press for simple milling projects.

After taking it apart sanding it and reassembling works very well for the price.

The drill Press Vise was a birthday present for someone, not me. All I can say is he was excited when he saw it.
