Packed with features that you’ll find in larger, more industrial type drill presses, you can power through metal, wood and other materials with ease. Change from 5 speeds to target the exact RPM right for your project (570 RPM, 900 RPM, 1390 RPM, 2050 RPM, 3050 RPM). Rigid frame construction of cast iron provides sturdiness and reliability. Its powerful induction motor features ball bearings for an extended life, all combining together with smooth and balanced performance at any speed. The 1/2 in. chuck with JT33 spindle taper gives you versatility with a variety of bits. Worktable bevels 45° left and right for those tricky operations for the perfect right angles consistently. Base has predrilled holes for mounting onto a bench or work stand. The X-pattern laser locks-on to your drill points saving on guesswork and sparing expensive materials. very good basic drill for the money; light is well positioned and out of the way; no runout on the shaft, but a bit of wobble detected on the chuck (I expected) but better than any other I’ve had; easily retrofitted a digital tach to this due to simple overall design; table actually tilts (3/4″ bolt) unlike others I’ve had that say they do but are actually staked in place; laser is battery powered x2 AAAs; only option was to mail order to store but worth the wait

Before this, I bought the Tool Shop 8″ Drill Press. That had a terrible run out, may be 1/8″, I almost had few accidents when counter boring into a metal and the wobbling drill bit hit outside the hole. They only had one bearing in the entire spindle. I returned that. This machine is double the price but worth it to buy. I wish WEN make a less expensive model without compromising the safety.

Well made drill press. It would have been 5 stars if there were better instructions, especially on aligning the laser. None could be found in the packaging or on-line. I finally figured it out myself.

This drill is a great value. The design is simple but effective, and the construction is very solid. The only negative is a lack of lateral stability of the table caused by the lack of a vertical slot in the stand. At any fixed height, that is not a problem, but if you need to change drill-bits in the middle of a bore, it will not stay in alignment when you loosen the lock to raise or lower the table. At the price, I consider this acceptable.It was easy to assemble, and changing speeds is easy.

Weekend warrior.. drill press exceeds my expectations, solid build, fairly quiet, cuts work time. Had heard laser wasn’t really helpful but I find it nails the center as advertised. Adding a drill press table is worth the money.
