The WEN 17 in. 13 Amp Twelve-Speed Floor Standing Drill Press meets the needs of both home and professional users. This model includes a full 4-3/4 in. of stroke capacity, allowing users a large enough spindle travel to easily drill through a 4×4 board. Adjust the speed to 12 different stops between 180 to 2940 RPM (180, 290, 320, 400, 520, 560, 1000, 1240, 1520, 1720, 2150 and 2940 RPM). The 14 in. x 14-in. cast iron table features a 1 in. coolant runoff channel around the outer lip of the table to prevent both the workpieces and the drill bits from overheating. The table also pivots up to 45° in both directions and can be positioned up to 26 in. away from the chuck to accommodate even the largest of workpieces. The laser pointer ensures maximum precision during drilling operations, creating an X through the center of your target. The JT3 chuck accepts bits anywhere from 1/8 in. to 5/8 in. in size with onboard key storage to make sure that the chuck key is always close by. Cast iron frame and base gives the machine a hefty support system to prevent the drill press from walking or vibrating during operation. And because it is a WEN product, the WEN 17 in. 13 Amp Twelve-Speed Floor Standing Drill Press comes backed by a 2-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled technicians and a friendly customer service team. Does the job. Wen clamps don’t work on table though. Wanted an American made drill press, but found out WEN is an American Company, but press is made in China. Ordered online, so didn’t find out till I had it and already put together. Companies need to bring things back to US.

The drill was nicely packaged with a substantial styrofoam mold, all parts were neatly packaged as well, and the assembly was user friendly. Setting the chuck was done with little effort. I tested the performance and was satisfied- for the money spent versus performance, it’s a great investment.

This Drill Press is Awesome!!! Has plenty of Power and Heavy Duty. Have been using it almost Daily for my Knife making projects. It takes 2 people to Assemble because it is Heavy!!! Tip: You will need to Adjust the Nut between the Motor and the Housing to Adjust the Belt to Adjust different Speeds. This Nut comes Adjusted all the way out,(Probably so it wont move during shipping!)… After 40 minutes waiting to talk to 2 Technicians We finally figured it out. But Great Customer Service from the WEN people!!!If your waiting to Buy a Drill Press, this is a Great Value for the Money! Can’t say enough Good things about this Drill Press….Joe

Drill press works awesome! Plenty of power and makes short work of 1/4″ steel plate. Front cover was broken when unpackaged, but called WEN & customer service was awesome! They priority 2day mailed another cover to me no questions asked! Would definitely recommend!

I ordered this drill press through Home Depot due to it being over a $100 cheaper plus free shipping to my local store, what a great buy!! I put the DP together, simple with directions provided. It operates perfect, NO issues. It looks great in my small hobby shop.

It’s a 2 man job to upright this drill. It’s heavy and you can hurt yourself doing it alone.

I haven’t used the Wen drill press extensively, however the few time that I have used it I’m quite pleased with its Preformance. I used the drill press with Fostner bits and I’m very pleased with the end results. Would I recommend this drill press and the answer is Yes.

For the money, this thing seems to be well made and has a lot of features. First thing I did with it was drill 176 holes through 1/4″ square tubing, and it did great. Time will tell how it holds up in the long run.

Nice Middle of the Road Drill Press.I bought this in March 2019 and happy with my purchase.I had it shipped to the store as shipping to the house was $50 more.No problem though, the young bucks at HD loaded it for me.In the box, it did fit in the back of my HHR.Some assembly is required. The drill head is a bit heavy. I had to get help lifting it on the post.Otherwise, the assembly was elementary. This does come with light and laser.Plenty of speed adjustment as it has 3 pulleys for speed selections. This does not compare well with an industrial drill, but the price is not comparable either. For home use – It is Excellent.

The reason why I wouldn’t recommend this drill press is because it is not user friendly for changing speeds. That has to be done by manualing changing the belts when there’s other drill presses out there where you don’t have to do that, including WEN. It’s a very big, solid machine. It’s very heavy and it’s built with quality in mind. It’s also pretty quiet too. I’m very impressed with the WEN drill presses. These are quality machines!! But this one just does not do it for me because I would prefer to be able to change the speed with a handle, and you can’t do that with this one. I’d recommend the 12″ or the 15″ model.

Drill was very heavy to assemble, recommend two people. Performs like dream: smooth responsive and quite. I love the laser mark for free style alignment. This tool will be a one of my centerpiece go to tools in my shop.

Good drill for the money. Installation instructions could use some work. I am not a fan of how the rack for the lift is not fastened to the rest. other wise – good experience so far – 2 months.

Great drill press for a low price

Good value for the price. The table adjustment isn’t great, but I’ve yet to see one that really works right in this class of presses. The chuck needs an upgrade if you want to run smaller bits, but it works fine. The depth stop isn’t intuitive if you want to lock the quill down. Good overall.

The press came packed in thick foam with no damage whatsoever. It was easy to assemble and works great. It has plenty of power for my DIY shop and light farm use. The laser isn’t super accurate, but I wouldn’t use it anyway. The adjustable light is perfect. I enjoy the simplicity of belt and pulley adjustment. Overall great value!

Drill press came well-packed and surprisingly was almost perfectly setup to run. Run out, laser sighting, and other adjustments were good. Expected several hours of carefully adjusting – not needed. A pleasant surprise. System was as expected, made in a ISO 9001 factory and made in Taiwan. Quality.
