The WEN 17 in. 13 Amp Twelve-Speed Floor Standing Drill Press meets the needs of both home and professional users. This model includes a full 4-3/4 in. of stroke capacity, allowing users a large enough spindle travel to easily drill through a 4×4 board. Adjust the speed to 12 different stops between 180 to 2940 RPM (180, 290, 320, 400, 520, 560, 1000, 1240, 1520, 1720, 2150 and 2940 RPM). The 14 in. x 14-in. cast iron table features a 1 in. coolant runoff channel around the outer lip of the table to prevent both the workpieces and the drill bits from overheating. The table also pivots up to 45° in both directions and can be positioned up to 26 in. away from the chuck to accommodate even the largest of workpieces. The laser pointer ensures maximum precision during drilling operations, creating an X through the center of your target. The JT3 chuck accepts bits anywhere from 1/8 in. to 5/8 in. in size with onboard key storage to make sure that the chuck key is always close by. Cast iron frame and base gives the machine a hefty support system to prevent the drill press from walking or vibrating during operation. This drill press is well built and assembly was very straight forward. However, when starting the drill press occasionally it will not start but will only buzz. I have to shut the switch off and rotate the spindle slightly to get the motor in a different location. Then it starts and runs fine. It’s pretty annoying but the fix is easy enough that I did not want to attempt to return the machine.

The press came packed in thick foam with no damage whatsoever. It was easy to assemble and works great. It has plenty of power for my DIY shop and light farm use. The laser isn’t super accurate, but I wouldn’t use it anyway. The adjustable light is perfect. I enjoy the simplicity of belt and pulley adjustment. Overall great value!

This is a huge and very heavy press; it was a real bear to assemble by myself; it is a little bit noisy for such a nice machine but it operates well and has plenty of power; I think it will serve my needs for many years

The drill was easy to assemble but you will definitely need help setting the drill head onto the post. The laser was perfectly aligned right out of the box. Has more than enough power to take on any job you have. Made a drill top table with a fence and stop blocks which make set up a breeze.

Nice heavy duty construction for home use, easy assembly. Priced right, although the chuck will not hold smaller drill bits. I had other chucks in my shop from previous equipment so this was not a problem.
