Home depot had the best price I could find at the time of purchase. Research lead me to this and a few others, but this one had a better warranty, stronger cast iron and higher clamping force than the others. The vice is of a high quality and the handle doesn’t need to be wrenched to hold items steady (like my old cheap vice). I am very happy with the price and quality of the Wen 4″ vice. One small item was the base of the vice. I had to drill out the holes slightly to fit the 1/2″ bolts I used, but that was not really an issue for me.

Bought it sight unseen. It’s 3 inch size is perfect for the job I need it for. Quality of it great. Paint job matches the stand I built. Anyone looking for small bench vise, I highly recommend it.

Pretty heavy duty vise for the cost. The jaws, anvil, and screw are pretty solid. My only complaint might be that the swivel tends to stick a little in certain spots, so I had to lube mine with grease. But still, for the price it’s pretty good.

Good vice for the price. Decent size despite it being sort of small. But anything larger would cost more. So all things considered, WEN is always a good choice.

The WEN 5 in. Heavy-Duty Cast Iron Bench Vise with Swivel Base is a great vise and will do what I need it to do. I looked at a lot of vises before buying this one, but I didn’t notice at the time that this vise does not have pipe jaws. When I mounted the vise to the right hand corner of the workbench I realized the fixed jaw does not hang out far enough past the mounting holes to allow long vertical items to clear the workbench. If I want to put long vertical things in the vise, I will have to add a piece of wood or metal to the fixed jaw in order for the long piece to clear the workbench. If I had mounted the vise in the middle of the workbench, this would not have been a problem because the mounting holes can be moved back and the rounded part of the base can be flush with the edge of the workbench.
