THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE SANDER. I REALLY LIKE THE DIFFERENT ANGLES IT HAS. THE ONLY THING I DON’T CARE FOR, IS I WISH HOME DEPOT WOULD CARRY THE BELTS SO I WOULD’NT HAVE TO ORDER THEM

What a fun little tool! I do a fair bit of woodworking, and one problem that frequently comes up is what to use for detail sanding on curved pieces. Sometimes a riffler or rasp does the trick, sometimes it’s sandpaper on a dowel, sometimes you need to go to a rotary tool with a sanding attachment. This detailing sander is a great addition to the arsenal–it does a great job where one might otherwise use a rasp, but it leaves a much smoother finish than a rasp normally does. You can adjust the angle of the belt, which can be helpful for sanding in awkward places. I like that it has a built-in vacuum port so that you can keep some of that sawdust out of your workshop. The only thing that keeps this from a five-star rating is that some of the components of this tool, like the bearings and the angle adjustment screw, are on the flimsy side. I’m not sure how it will stand up to much in the way of long-term abuse. But for now, I’m enjoying it immensely.

This sander is light weight and easy to handle – it gets into tight spots well. Since it is small and thus has a small motor, one needs to push lightly and let the sandpaper do the work. I sanded 65 spindles (5″ spacing) in a rail system (several hours part time), by using premium sanding belts by Red Label. At this price, it has good value. Glad to see WEN is getting back into the power tool business – they again hit the sweat spot for DIY applications, performance and affordability.

The sander did a superb job in reaching all areas of an intricate antique oak door.

It’s a fragile machine but it’s awsome. I would not press to hard when sanding.

AMAZING-This is the ultimate tool for refinishing or finishing off chairs, cabinets, etc to get into all of those little impossible to sand places. Even with 220 grit belts it is super powerful, and a 60 grit is POWERFUL or less so with adjustable speed. Also allows the Belt plane to be changed.

Much better than I expected for a 2″ belt sander. I only draws 2 Amps and came with an adapter to be able to attach your vacuum to it to catch the sawdust or what ever you are sanding. It also came with three sanding belts a 80, 120 and a 320. It is only 18″ so it can get into small areas in close quarters! You can tilt the sander either up or down if needed to get into some areas. also I found when changing the belt after you push the end to replace the belt, the tension button is below the vacuum attachment! You just remove it and press the button to tension the new belt then replace the attachment to be able to use your dust collector. It also has a variable speed control which is nice.

I have this tool in the air version and I really liked it, but you cant carry a compressor every where you go and I don’t like dragging a air hose when working. This is very handy and mobile works great and fits into tight spaces where average sanders wont, easy to change belts and a great price. I will be using this often when working out of my shop, and I have quite a few WEN tools and have had good luck with them.

I use very expensive air files at work and this one holds it’s own against them. And for only an 1/8 the price!!
