Past experience has taught me it’s no fun to sand by hand and end up looking like a ghost. I purchased this particular sander to save myself from having a dusty mess, and because it has changeable heads in order to sand down the corners. You do have to be careful of what grit your using if you’re overlapping sanding into an area that hasn’t been mudded yet as it does quickly wear down the paper face of the Sheetrock. It does do a great job of keeping the surface level rather than creating uneven surfaces that a smaller hand sander could potentially leave. Just be cautious when having the sander on and placing it up against the wall surface to make sure it touches evenly or it will leave a little gouge. The most disappointing part of the sander is its lack of suction to pull all of the dust into the vacuum. You have to check occasionally the head of the sander as the holes easily get clogged and then you end up with a pile of dust on the floor from trying to clear it. Even with the triangular head I found that I still hand to use a hand sander to get into the corners, but it still gives you better edge coverage than the circular head. I purchased a hose adapter kit from Home Depot to connect the sander to my Ridgid shop vac. Unfortunately none of the adapters matched up perfectly to the sander, so I had to duct tape the shop vac hose to the sander’s hose. Overall, the mess is far less than doing by hand, I was able to do the work far faster as well. Just wish it would have an improved design to provide better suction through the sander head like the Porter Cable sander, and wish it also came with it’s own set of hose adapters.

This thing is a life saver, I finished skim coating a large wall and sanded it in about 15 mins. It sucks all the dust right up, just watch out when taking it off the wall, some dust stays in the head. The triangle head is perfect for edges and corners. Sand paper lasted a very long time so it’s worth the cost. Only reason I gave this 4 stars is because they don’t offer a smaller head for it. A small rectangular one about the size of a regular drywall sander would make this the perfect tool.

This is a great tool to make a messy job a little less messy, and to make sanding drywall a whole lot quicker. I love that the head pivots in all directions making for a smooth transition on the wall and sanding evenly. I did notice that the holes in the sander were clogging a little and I had to stop and clear it, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I wonder if I used a stronger shop Vac if this would take care of that particular problem.Anyways, I found that it worked the best to just let the tool do its job and don’t force anything. I pushed a little too hard and dug right into the mud and a time or two I wasn’t careful when I lifted the sander from the wall or touched it to the wall and I had to make a small repair. All in all, great little machine. I have used other methods and it is a messy mess that is a lot more difficult to get right. This was a huge help.

Does an excellent job with triangle paper but very heavy if you aren’t in good shape.Haven’t tried the round attachment yet but I am sure the weight will not change.

This sander is fine once you get used to it. The instruction manual is horrible, you have to figure out how to change heads and attach the hose to a shop-vac on your own. Once I got used to the weight and how to maneuver it, it made my job a whole lot easier and slightly less messy.

After years of doing all sanding by hand this tool works great and perfection is easier and faster to produce . Starts slow for better control. Hooks up to a shop vac. Well balanced and made with quality.

Seems to work well. I have never used one before. The motor causes a feeling of imbalance which wears on your arms. But for the money it’s good for small jobs.

This is a great tool for sanding drywall, made that job easier, bad part is its extremely heavy and hard to hold if using for any amount of time. No carry case wish it had one.

The WEN Drywall Sander does what it was advertised to do: The unit has plenty or power. Saves time and makes less dust than conventional sanding.Cons: The unit is heavy for doing ceilings, It does hold dust in the head not sucked through the vacuum hose.
