Remember when you needed a versatile and reliable sander. The WEN Belt Disc Sander easily sands, smooths and removes all of the jagged edges and splinters on your wood and lumber. With a 4.3 Amp 1/2 HP motor, users should anticipate enough power to prevent this machine from bogging down under a large load. Changing the spacious 4 in. x 36 in. belt is a breeze, so you’ll have the power to switch and replace sand paper grits as needed without wasting any time. The belt also tilts anywhere from 0° to 90° to accommodate the needs of your particular workpiece while the heavy cast-iron base prevents vibrations. With all of this in addition to the 6 in. side disc, you’ll have the capacity to sand whatever your heart desires. The sanding disc is accompanied by a sturdy cast-aluminum work table. Included with the belt disc sander is a miter gauge for steady sanding on angled edges, a stop bar for safety and control, and a 2.25 in. dust port to connect a dust extractor. And because this is a WEN Product, your purchase comes backed by a 2-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled experienced technicians, and a helpful customer service line all to make sure that you remember WEN.

Great value really gets the job done highly recommended

The sander bogs down and stops with little force applied. 4.3 amps is too weak for a belt sander of this design. It’s inexpensive that’s true but it wouldn’t take much to improve the strength of this machine. I’ve worked on electrical equipment and mobile electric power plants in the Navy for 20 yrs. So I’m no dummy. You put out a cheap product that barely gets the job done.

The tool arrived timely and I’ve used it for its intended purpose – for several weeks now – on shoe adjustments (read, orthopedic): incl. including sole sheets, shoe lasts, and a shoe press. Setup was a breeze, as I worked, minor belt adjustments were necessary. Both belt and disk worked well

This sander is a good product considering all of the overall features and price. It is a budget friendly model that operates well. I found two problems with this machine. The first is a slight inconvenience and involves the hex bolt that allows adjustment (raising/lowering) of the belt sander bed. When the steel stop/arm is attached as recommended it slightly obscures the hex head bolt while raising the belt bed. You have to remove the allen wrench then maneuver it back into the bolt head, removing and reinserting several times to tighten or loosen. The second problem that seems to persist in all of these lower priced belt/disk sanders is the attachment and adjustment mechanism of the disk sanding table. It is sloppy, weak and difficult to adjust properly. Also the bolt that is used to tighten the table to the sander has a small plastic star head grip that is too small for proper hand tightening. Despite these drawbacks the sander works well. It is easy to change the sanding belt and not too hard to replace the disk. I recommend it for those DIY people who need an entry level belt/disk sander.

Great sander for the money. Good design in making replacement of the belt & disc easy as compared to the Harbor Freight one that I mistakenly purchased.

It sands. Which is what I bought it for. Changing belts it super easy and the dust port does a decent job of collecting from the belt but not so much from the disk. There is a fair bit of vibration that I haven’t been able to solve but at this price I can live with it. I added a place to hang the allen key so I wasn’t chasing it when I needed to change belts or adjust the angle. Also there is no way I’ve found to adjust the full length belt tension in case you buy 36″ belts that are just a bit longer than they are supposed to be and they flap. Overall it does what its designed to do so if you’re cheap like me and need one, buy it. It works.

When assembling the disk sander plate, I found that the plate would tighten, but would have a small drop when pressure was applied causing the vertical adjust to loose a degree or so. The boss that holds the plate was slightly smaller than the hole it was supposed to fit into. I used a small piece of shim stock to tighten that contact into the hole and the plate no longer drops when leaned upon. Now, a 90 degree adjust of the plate stays at 90 degrees.Other than that, the disk and belt sander work flawlessly.

It’s a perfect size for home projects. Very good dust control. Easy to change sanding belts. The adhesive sanding disc can be a hassle to get off a hook and loop system would be much easier.
