With a cutting width of 2-3/8 in. and a maximum cutting depth of 1/16 in. you’ll have the perfect companion for fitting and squaring boards. The 9 positive stops increase in increments of 1/128 in. anywhere from 0 all the way up to 1/16 in. The base plate shoe even includes 2 v-shaped grooves for easily flattening and shaping sharp post corners. The bases kickstand protects both the blade and the work piece in between uses, keeping the blade elevated and out of contact from the surface of your project. I’ve been a journeyman carpenter for 50 yrs. the last planner was so old the blades were discontinued. I have a 12” wen planner and have been very satisfied with it so I thought I would try the hand planner. I’ve used it several times and have been very pleased with it. Be prepared to have to clean up a big pile of shavings.
