I’ve been a journeyman carpenter for 50 yrs. the last planner was so old the blades were discontinued. I have a 12” wen planner and have been very satisfied with it so I thought I would try the hand planner. I’ve used it several times and have been very pleased with it. Be prepared to have to clean up a big pile of shavings.

For my purposes, this hand planer does exactly what is needed. My 50-year-old hand planer finally gave out after years of use & abuse, and by comparison this one works more quickly and smoothly. Furthermore, I don’t have to oil it every so often as required by the old one.

Cannot attest to durability since I’ve only used twice but product is well built and worked flawlessly. I’m happy I didn’t spend $100+ for another well known brand.

It’s don’t make very smooth or finishing. That’s mean I need to use sandpaper.

Very good for the money. Absolutely no complaints. If did woodworking for a living may want to get a higher caliber planer. This works for the DIYr.

This was my first time using a tool like this. I’m almost 40 and have been working on my deck. The boards were not straight by any means so I learned about this tool and took it out, reviewed instructions kind of quickly and got right to it. I loved using it-it was actually fun!!! So easy as well! I wish I had it years ago! It’s now my favorite tool!

So, this thing feels awesome and sturdy, and it tears through wood like a wailing banshee. . . When it wants to, but I’m not sure if it’s a technique issue or what. I have a full suite of vintage hand planes passed down to me by my mentor. I love them, and have used them on just about every job I’ve done. I don’t have a proper shop planer and I’ve only recently gotten a pre ww2 belt driven jointer that is beautiful and soooo sweet. I like this tool though, but I fight with it a lot, but it’s been awesome clearing chunks of waste when straightening out and smothing boards, but I still gotta hit everything with my manual planes after.
