Remember when you brought those old jagged boards back to life. The WEN 12.5 in. Benchtop Thickness Planer with Granite Table repurposes rough and worn wood to give it an exceptionally smooth finish. The powerful 15 Amp motor combined with our 2-blade cutting system provides over 17,000 cuts per minute at a 26 ft. per minute feed rate. Plane boards up to 12.5 in. W and 6 in. thick with ease. The smooth granite table never warps and provides precise support to wood passing through the machine. Combine that with the heavy-duty base for a sturdy planer that does not walk or wobble during operation. The handy depth adjustment knob varies each pass to take off anywhere from 0 in. to 3/32 in. The fan-assisted dust port removes chips and sawdust from the workpiece and blasts them out of the way. This package also includes 2 high carbon steel double-edged blades (SK5) along with height-adjustable infeed and outfeed tables that limit snipe while providing extra support to your workpiece during planning. Great value. Very good planer at a fraction of what similar machines cost. It is very heavy thanks to the granite table and doesn’t move when working. Cuts are clean except for the last 2 inches or so. Cut your boards a bit longer.

This planer does a really good job with softer woods. I used it with Koa wood and it bogged and struggled a bit. It got through it with good quality, small bits at a time, just took a bit. I would recommend this for small jobs. The blades have held up well with that harder wood. No chipping.

I finally had a chance to give this thing a try today. Inhad some old 2 x 6 lumber from a deck that i had replaced with composite decking and was hopimg to be aboe to ise this thickness planer to refurbish the wood. I spent aboit an hour on this one peice of wood. The planer bogged down several times even though i was only cutting a quater turn (far less than 1/8) off at a time. I will continie to ise this planer for small projects (furniture, cabinets, etc.), but it is clearly not made for larger wood (and this wood isnt even a hardwood, its just ‘well weathered’)

this is an excellent machine! I’ve run miles of alder and cedar through it. Great height adjustability, dead flat granite table, relatively quiet, and dust collection is efficient and simple with just a shop vac. I’m very impressed with it! Based on the quality of this planer Ill be getting the Wen benchtop jointer next.
