Sad to say but my luck not so good on this one. Disc wobble is at least 1/32 inch which creates a lot of vibration, intense near the outer edge, not so much near the center. I didn’t return it because i needed it and the wobble was with something i could handle and not worth trying to return and take a chance on another one having the same problem. Other reviews said it was smooth, quiet, and vibration free. Mine, not so much. Still….for the price…

Very heavy duty, but the platen is not flat and the arbor warped so it vibrates excessively. Usable for the low price.

Received the CORDED 12 IN. BENCHTOP DISC SANDER WITH MITER GAUGE AND DUST COLLECTION SYSTEM about 10 days ago and have used it several times all ready, my neighbor has used more then me. This is a very powerful sander and I just love the miter gauge that come with this sander. Once you have it mounted on a sturdy bench or stand it is a great for my wood working projects. I would recommend this product.

The unit is extremely heavy, so you should consider mounting it on a stationary platform.Assembly is simple. There is only the table to connect, with two mounting screws and two adjusting handles. The Mounting screw on both sides are easy. The adjusting handle on the right has full 360 Degree turning radius, but the left side requires some handle manipulation as the turning radius is small. Handle should have been a knob to avoid this issue.Levelling the table is easy, but keeping the table equidistant from the spinning pad is a horror. One bolt on the right side is difficult to reach because of the structure of the table, and the nuts are metric.Table will drop down from the horizontal, but does not go up from the horizontal. Could be an issue if the piece being worked on cannot be inverted.Comes with a miter gauge that fits well within the track on the table, but not tested for accuracy of the scale.

Better than expected, especially for the price. Heavy cast iron well made. Runs quiet , and is very easy to set up, and easy to square. Is it the worlds finest mitre gauge? No but it’s more than adequate for any weekend hobbyist like myself.

I am trying to fine sand small pieces and the sander I received has a very serious vibration which I have tried to correct with some positive result. The sander still has a serious vibration.

I know the weight of 60 lb is listed in the specs but I have to say it still hits you how hefty this tool is when you go to lift it. This is one very solidly built tool. I have some other WEN tools and this seems to be a theme with them. I like to see things over engineered a bit like that. I want some margin so the tool will take what I dish out. And this one will. One other thing that I have to say surprised me was how quiet this thing was. I expected it to be somewhat loud. But when I fired it up it is whisper quiet. The balance is super and the motor runs quiet and cool. I put mine on a stand I had built but I’ve not bothered to bolt it down. It’s so heavy I really don’t see the need. It’s not going to be scooting around even when working some material against the wheel. At 60 lb it will stay in its place. Time of course is the test of these things but I get a very good first impression starting out with a tool when it feels this solid. I’m very optimistic about it holding up. The base and guard are built out of some heavy iron while the table is a solid piece of aluminum. The adjustments for tilting the table are simple and make adjustments quick and easy. It goes together in a matter of a few minutes since there are only a few pieces. (basically you attach the table and are ready to go). I think this one is a WENner.

Wen 12 inch Disc sander model #65812 Made in ChinaThe good stuff: hella heavy – just over 60 pounds, and the bearings are very nice – it spins a long, long time after the power is cut.The set-up is intuitive and easy. If that’s not enough, there are clear instructions to confirm you have squared your table and the miter gauge. The flex-hose that attaches to the dust-exhaust vent conveniently fits my shop vac. Low-dust environments are preferred.A 60-grit disc is provided (w/ parts numbers to re-order).The disappointments: The table sets up easily, but is more flexible that I’d expected – this showed up when I was sanding some soft cedar on 45 deg miter cuts. Bearing down – even lightly – made the table flex. The miter gauge lacks any detents for common cuts at 90, 45, 22.5 degrees. See pic to show how I trued it up, when I found the dial numbers looked more like estimates than actual firm numbers.

The sander is heavy, almost 50 Lbs. Has mounting holes to mount on the work bench or work table. The 12 inch sanding disk that comes with it removes lots of product with the advantage of using a dust collector to catch the removed wood particles. It also has an adjustable shelf with a miter gauge to make angle sanding in multiple angles a breeze. Only four parts to screw in to assemble the unit for the adjustable shelf. I really like versatility unlike other sanders I have looked at.
