Remember when you could cut through a board full of nails. We aren’t kidding. You can literally slice through a wooden board full of metal nails with the WEN 2-Speed Single Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. This saw’s smart power technology implements an internal speed detection system to maintain consistent RPMs through materials of varying hardness. That means the saw’s torque automatically adjusts, increasing when sawing through knots and nails and decreasing for softer portions of the work piece. Combine that with our 15-Amp motor for a versatile tool that can handle even the toughest of projects. With the WEN 2-Speed Miter Saw, you can select your preferred speed with the simple flick of a switch for operation at either 2000 or 4500 rotations per minute. Switch on a metal-cutting blade to take on aluminum, steel and more. Bevel the head of the saw up to 45° to the left and miter up to 45° in either direction. Cut boards up to 12 in. wide and 3-1/2 in. thick or make compound cuts (45° bevel and 45° miter) 8-1/2 in. wide and 1-7/8 in. thick. This package also includes a 10 in. 48-tooth carbide-tipped blade for woodworking, 2 retractable work stops, 8 positive miter stops, one clamp assembly, 2 removable table extensions, a laser and a dust bag.

Cuts through wood with ease, regardless of the size. Adjustments are easy to make. Laser and miter gage is accurate.

I love the WEN miter saw. The 2-speed function is different from what I was used to. The laser was set correctly upon arrival, I did not have to make any adjustments, the smart power feature is interesting. I like the soft start. Here is a video of me using it and the WEN Jointer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYZZ9a8-BM4

The saw was very easy to assemble to the Wen stand. It is easy to operate and the cut angles were accurate. On some tall baseboards the had to cut upside down due to the depth/height of the motor on the saw handle being in the way of cutting handle

Others have mentioned the lack of utility from the hold-down clamp. Many times it can’t be used at all. The dust collector port is TOTALLY useless. The saw shoots a stream of sawdust about 12 inches away from the collector. Laser sight didn’t work. Still, for the money it’s 4 stars.

This saw seems completely adequate and is just fine for the price. It feels solid, cuts smoothly, the base is adequate and the supplied blade is plenty good enough for ordinary carpentry, trim, and home jobs. There’s a safety release that was new to me – an additional lever on the hand grip that retracts the cover – but it’s implemented in a way that’s comfortable and not annoying. The laser was set accurately enough; it uses batteries, which is a bit of a downside as I’ll have to constantly remember to turn it off. Not much dust ends up in the dust collection bag, but that’s typical of miter saws, it’s really an attachment port for a vacuum or dust collector. The saw includes 2 adjustable extension wings with swing-away end stops. There are 2 speeds; one is for cutting metal (obviously with a different blade) but I doubt I’ll use it.Basically, not much to criticize, it’s a nice tool.

Laser isn’t adjustable and is far off centered from the actual cuts being made. Also the blade is not centered with the angle adjuster so I have to set it at .5 deg to get a clean 90 deg cut. Quite literally all the variable angles are off-centered out of the box, which you kind of expect given it’s an online purchase but this much adjustment is a bit much. I’ve been trying over & over to use the fence adjustment to tune it back to zero, to no avail. I’m going to have to check the angle of the fence and see if it might be bent, but not happy with my purchase of both this and the Wen drill press.

I have only had this Wen 10″ Dual Speed Sliding Compound Miter Saw a short time, but I have already used it for a couple of home projects. I used it to cut some shelving for my closet and also to cut and replace a broken piece of baseboard for the dining area. It worked great and made clean, smooth and accurate cuts effortlessly and fast. The instruction / assembly manual is really thorough and easy to understand. The booklet doesn’t just cover assembly and operation of the saw, but also maintenace, the different types of cuts it can make and spacific rules for the miter saw. For me, this was really a help because this is my first mitre saw. The saw is easy to use and all the switches, knobs, locks etc are conveniently located. The support tables, clamp and lazer were all very helpful for my projects. This is a great Miter Saw and I know I will be using it a lot. I enjoyed using it so much that I am looking for other projects! It is made by Wen which always makes high-quality, durable and long-lasting tools, so it will probably outlast me.

Good saw for the money. It has all the key functions one needs for overall home use. Like another noted, the laser is battery operated which is one small downside. The two speed function is a plus. You can switch between 2000 or 4500 rPMS. Slower speed for cutting metals, but it also good for plastics like pvc and/or irrigation piping etc. It has a speed detector to maintain consistent RPMs through materials of varying hardness. in any case, it seems to have the power necessary….The blade that comes with it is good for most common uses.If you always wanted a mIter saw at a reasonable price for home use, this is a good choice at a Decent price at HD…

This is a 10 inch miter saw, which is built smartly and light. Some of the things I really like are as follows: I love the quick release and lock for the angle deck. I often am cutting frames for pictures etc, and need to switch from 45% right to 45% left for each piece, so I am flinging the angle back and forth alot. It is real easy to use on that point. The laser is bright and far enough away from the saw blade, it won’t get covered with saw dust quickly like others do. The deck has 2 extendable ends which are very nice and have built in stops if you happen to be cutting a length that can take advantage of them. The 2 speed motor is intended to have the low speed (@2000 rpm) for light metal cutting, and the high speed (@4500 rpm) for wood. The motor is a bit slow to get up to speed but is strong once on speed. The only complaint I have is the tightening knobs for the clamp unit, and end brackets are a bit of a pain to tighten. Also the laser light switch is hard to find. For the price I think this is a nice unit.

Nice built and does the job very well. Then down side for me is on the laser light that is me favorite. Due to the position of the laser ligth if you are not using the vacuum hose the light will be cover on wood dust and it will not been over the lumber marks.

This miter saw has all the bells and whistles you could imagine, yet it’s simple and easy to use. We wanted to install a wall of pallet wood and this saw made quick work of the project. The laser line shows you exactly where the saw will cut, leaving very little margin for error. Our boards came out exactly the right size, with very little variation. I LOVE that it can cut up to a 10 inch board. Our last miter saw could only cut up to 6 inches and left a lot to be desired. This saw was so simple and easy to use. It did a great job from the first cut. This is a great miter saw for a DIY enthusiast, or even a beginner. It has everything you need to make the job quick and painless.
