used this track saw for the first time to make a cabinet with 3/4 plywood and it worked out great.

The track and plunge saw have been excellent for rips. The Wen was the cheapest setup I could find and I don’t know what would be the benefit of using a more expensive setup.

Before I bought these, I had (2) Makita 55″ rails. While the Makitas were straight on their own they were not milled identically and did not fit together perfectly straight (the came in separate boxes so I’m guessing I got two different production runs). So, I kept one Makita rail and returned one, then got this WEN set for the long rips. Most importantly, both WEN rails were milled identically and the ends were square to one another – 5 stars for that part. My Makita Track saw (amazing saw, btw) is compatible and glides well on these WENs. The combined 100 in. length is 10″ shorter than the comparable Makita rails (Makitas are 2 x 55″ = 110″). The difference means that when cutting a full length sheet of ply or mdf, the 100″ only allows for 1-1/2 to 2″ overlap at each end, so not having the extra 10″ makes it more challenging to keep the saw straight on the track for the start or the end of the cut, depending on how you place the rail (that’s why I rated 4 instead of 5 star- I think two roughly 52″ rails, 104″ total, would be perfect for the long cuts). That being said, the Makita rails run about $75 each, along with a $30+ connector kit = ~$180 for a Makita long setup vs. the $75-80 for this WEN set. FYI, my WEN rail and my Makita rail don’t match perfectly end to end together. They are close, but milled slightly differently (also means you have to adjust the rail cinching knobs on the saw just a bit if you switch back and forth to eliminate the side to side wobble), so you can’t use the Makita and WEN rails together. Not a big deal to me since I keep the WENs assembled for the long rips and the Makita rail I use for anything 48″ or less. There is an advantage to keeping the two rails setup and not assembling each time since it is a little bit of a challenge to align along the full length. Once you get that alignment dialed in, it’s nice to be able to leave it. It does mean you need a rack or somewhere to store/support the full length (I use my wall lumber rack). Pro tip – watch a YouTube video on cutting the edge rubber on first use. I watched one by “Field Treasure Designs” on the Makita. Basically, put the rails together, align, start a plunge cut a few inches in from the end to a few inches short of the far end, then switch the rails around and finish the rubber cut in the middle. This insures that regardless of which rail you do have first in line, the rubber edge strip aligns with the second rail. Also insures the end cuts are clean and square.

This 100″ track is a must-have for anyone that has the WEN track saw. The track goes together easy and the bars that tie the tracks together are easy to use. The saw has clean and smooth motion along the track, and the set screws on the bottom of the track are recessed so you don’t mar the surface of your work piece.

It does what is designed for at the fraction of the cost you pay for Makita or Festool.

Cuts well, main problem is there is not a zero clearance effect. There can be tear out on the off side surface. However it is still a very good value.

they are the lowest price so monitor your expectations. The rubber on mine was peeling from the outset. I would have kept the tracks but I just couldn’t get over the amount of plastic on the Wen track saw so I returned it all

I’ve seen others say the guide rails are not straight…. BUT mine are dead straight… I got lucky? for the price i’m not going to complain…

I bought these tracks along with the WEN track saw, and I can’t be more happy with the performance. The saw fits snug to the track and locks in to prevent kickback and jumping, and the track has zero flex laterally. Going from one track to two is easy with the provided locking keys and the saw slides easily in place. You really should purchase the clamps that are made for this track because they slide inside the track on the bottom and adjust easily to whatever you’re cutting.
